My longest journey was from Chile, South America, where I live to Europe. It was the farthest and also the longest time I´ve been away from home. We went with my husband first to Bolivia then to Colombia (Bogotá, Barranquilla and Cartagena de Indias) and then to the United States where we went from Miami to Colorado where we had friends. In their car we went to New Mexico, Nevada and California. Then we got into a Greyhound bus and went up tp Chicago and then to New York to take the plane to Switzerland where my brother and sister were working. In Europe we went for many 1 week camping trips from Lausanne to: Italy, Germany and Austria, England and France, Belgium and Holland and finally to Spain where we took the plane back home. I made that trip many years ago and I discovered then that you don´t need to be rich to travel. We were away for six months. There are good and cheap accomodations everywhere and you can eat well if you make your own food. And people all over the world are very helpful if you ask nicely Happy postings

I really love to travel. My last trip involved a 12 hour flight and that was 12 hours from London to Cape Town. It wasn't tiring because the plane only went through a couple of time zones. I know that flying London to Los Angeles, about the same flight duration, was exhausting because of the time zone situation. My longest flights were 14 hours long, from Singapore to London and London to Hong Kong. My favorite way to travel is by train and the longest trip by rail that I have done was Cairns to Brisbane, 14 hours. That was a memorable and special journey. I am divorced now but I did meet my ex-husband on that. I have traveled overnight on a bus from Trieste to Dubrovnik and from Vilnius to Tallinn. By train was certainly more comfortable.

I think my longest journey was 21 hours (by flight. We were on our way to Los Angeles, and it's the other side of the globe. I spent most of the time watching in-flight movies, reading, eating and sleeping!
