(Is that an oxymoron?) Have you ever caught colds in the summer? I've rarely caught colds in the winter, but once again this year, i've caught a month-long cold in May from drinking cold water. Have you experienced summer colds or winter colds?

I will say most of my cold are caught in winter when the temperature causes my immunity lower and the virus is at the most active phase of all season.

In fact it is also very easy to catch a cold in summer. Especially when you are in an environment with air-conditioner. You go out and it's so hot outside. The temperature difference will cause you to catch a cold easily. I love china

It does sound like an oxymoron. lol.. In summer, here we catch colds due to the humidity and erratic food habit. Like we would indulge in chilled drinks just after coming for the heat. Cold food doesn't harm but then we need to be careful it a little. You take care.

Yes, maybe sudden lowering of temprature provides an ideal situation for breeding of cold viruses...or something. tc.

Are you sure it was from drinking cold water? Maybe there is something I don't know, but I didn't think it was possible to catch a cold that way. But I sure know it is possible to get colds in the summer! It's not a good feeling, is it. A person would think they would be safe from it, but I guess not. I hope you feel better!

Yes, its definitely from drinking cold water suddenly. I catch a cold usually in march - this year as well, but rarely in the winter months. Thanks for your concern, happy mylotting. :)

I have been sick all week. I don't think it is a cold though. I have an ear infection, and a really bad cough and sinus headache, but I never got a runny nose, which is what I usually get when I get a cold. I think when the weather is eratic like in the Spring that our immune systems get weaker or something. I hate being sick, that is all I know.

I'm sorry to hear that - i hope you get well soon. True, it doesnt sound like a cold. Warm soup or even water may help get rid of the cough.
