Well, it happened, I have gray hair growing in on the sides. I can't seem to lose those 10 lbs. not sure where they came from... Ugh, time really does fly! I think about all these extra days that it takes to heal my knee and it is a bit depressing.
It is true, though... I really am much calmer now. I do seem to make better decisions that have a better outcome. I don't always buy the cool car or jump into the fun, but again, I stay out of trouble and relax! lol I really don't wake up feeling bad from sitting up and drinking until 3a for no real reason but to "hang out". I like the gardening and more interesting outings. Don't get me wrong, I'm not THAT old, not eating at 4:30p, but I do tend to take it easy and listen to music at a decent volume.
I don't really worry about things as much and I really do appreciate the days more and value time.

I don't mind getting older for the most part. Of course, the aching joints can be a pain sometimes. Age has never bothered me though. I'm 50 now and we have a very busy household with four little ones, ages 5 and under. That'll keep a person young anyways, lol..chasing them around. Three of those children are foster children and one is our own. Being this busy, I don't have time to think about getting old.

Wow, getting older? I don't really know what that's like, i don't really age except in my weight and personality, i'm still in shape, i life weights, my face still looks almost the same as it did when i was in highschool and a few years before that. Except people say i look better, but i really don't age in fact, not to be bragging or anything, i've gotten better with age and i'm 36. Although i use to be in better shape a couple of years ago, i had muscles at 182, but since then i had to cut back on carbs and i lost over 50 pounds which i'm trying to gain the right way, in a healthy way without messing with my blood sugar again. But i'm ok with ageging, i just don't really want to live til i'm 80 or 90 unless i'm still in farly good health without any dieseases, and i don't want to have to stay in a nursing home and i want to be able to do to do things for myself, so all in all aging has beeen good to me.

Yea I am ok with it..I will be 47 this year and sometimes I sit and think about what if I did something different back in the day if my life would be better or worst then now. But I am about like you much calmer,, musice down some but there are times that I will crank it up dont get me wrong either..hehe..and then at times I wish I was still a lot younger then I am now.

I dont mind being older. Age is just a number to me i'm the same person either way...I'll be a year older in a couple weeks and once I am then ill be 4 yrs closer to 30...It scares me somtimes but at the same time it doesn't really bother me.

There's no problem in getting older. No matter how we try to escape aging, it will always hunt us. I admit I am also scared of getting older, especially that there are a lot of diseases, illnesses and some other horrible conditions associated with old age, but that's what life is.. learn to accept the fact that we're not getting any younger.

Well I am not worried of getting older but worried of getting fatter. Age is just a number which I would not care if it increases but not numbers on my weight. LOL

I'm actually fine with getting older, i'm 36 but i haven't aged at all except for a couple of white hairs, litterally. I actually look 16 so most people don't know i'm older. I'm still just as fast and agile as i was when i was a teenager, I workout and trying to gain more muscle mass like i use to have.

I was at work on Friday with two of my colleagues when I mentioned that my birthday would be on Wednesday (May 6). I will be 32 then so i said (I'm going to be 32...Yipppeeeeeeeeee."
Both girls are younger than I am and one of them made out... 'And you are happy about that?" I then said to her, "Well what else do you think I would do?" And then we all laughed. But seriously I am not going to work myself up over growing older.
I once feared it more than I do now and even tried to freeze time mentally. It didn't work at all as the years keep 'a coming' so why not just enjoy them as they come. The way I see it it makes no sense to spend precious time fearing age and then when I finally face reality that I am indeed old/older then I spend the rest of my life being sorry I hadn't loosened up and enjoyed life some more.

Hi Jenniferp, I'm fine with getting older. Grey or white hair, I can just dye away. I've not been able to gain much weight though. With the years, I'm more confident and relaxed, not so conscious about others looking at me or what they think of my looks or ideas. I can say 'no' anytime, anyhow - I used to be so obliging, fearing to hurt anyone's feelings. It's great being older!

We really can't stop the time for growing old. I admire you for accepting how time take it's role. I am also preparing myself for adding more years in my life. I also want to grow old with a smarter and wiser mind. I also want the confidence that you have in embracing each day. Thank you for sharing your thoughts it simply makes me more open with the thoughts of accepting the next years to come.

we don't have to worry of getting older, instead we should be happy that we are now mature enough to think of things that we should do. we are through with the age that we are still immature and can't express ourself to the public. i should be relax and make life as if it would be the end of the day always. spend the day and years with the people that can make you happy and being true to you.

I am not afraid of getting older every day. For me, getting older means one is gaining more experience and wisdom in the ways of the world, and generally, in life. I personally think getting older signifies more maturity than before. Once you get older, you will realize and understand your responsibilities more clearly. You realize you don't need to get wasted and party all night long to be happy or cool. The only downside in getting older is slower metabolism and yes, the ever-increasing gray or white hairs. Aaack.

getting aged with time is a natural phenomenon..you can delay the aging process but its absolutely not possible to prevent it..so one should take it easy and age gracefully..With outer beauty slowly vanishing your inner beauty grows with it..its all about feeling young from your heart..that spirit keep you young forever
cheers

When we are older all of our body metabolism is getting slower, partying seems not that fun anymore, and also the saddest thing for me is watching all those teenagers have no burden in their shoulder and just have fun on their life. Getting older sucks.

No one can stop getting older, but you can delay growing up. I always promised my kids that I would try to stay as young acting as long as I could so that they would not be stuck with a canky old Mother. I think that I am succeeding.
I still drive my neighbors crazy with fireworks on the 4th and New Years, but they do come out and watch and oooh and aaah. I fly kites with the neighbor kids or the adults when I can con them into it. I just learned to skateboard with one of those skateboards with only 2 wheels on them. They are cool but tough to balance. I DJ dances for the "Elderly". And I embarrace the Kids whenever possible.

ya said it all in the last line that ya wrote! I have noticed that I look at time so differently than I ever did before. People have became a little more precious to me, time is a little more valuable to me and I take my unfinished dreams just a little more serious.
I know that I have more years behind me than I have in front of me... and as scary and sad as that can be, I like the age that I am.
I've learned so many things about myself, life, and those I am around.. I've learned to pay more attention to the inner workings rather than the outside of any situation. I've learned to forgive and to even allow myself room for mistakes. And I've learned to accept love and to give love to the fullest. I think I've done more growing up in the last 2 years than ever in my lifetime.
I will be 44 this Tuesday.. Happy Birthday... ME! hahaha!

It's a pleasure to get old. It shows that you have endured life and all of its goods and bads. I think it would be a great feeling especially when you have been successful and people looks up to you for advice and such regarding life. I do not think that once you grow old you cannot have fun. One can always have fun, you just need to find your 'old' buddies. Oh, and I'm still 21, so I 'm not really worried about growing old. Just yest I was 16 having all the fun in the world. Now I have loads of responsibility.

I am ok with getting older but I do regret that I did not take better care of myself when I was younger. I guess I just thought my body would keep on going in the same way it had been. Now I see how hard it is to lose weight, I am getting very stiff and achy, and if I were to lose all the weight I need to now, I would be stuck with so much saggy skin that I now know will never get back in shape. I see many older people, some even in their 80's that have aged so gracefully and still look good and get around good. They must have done some things right that I did not do. Now aging is a little more challenging for me but I still welcome the experience.

I can't wait to get older! I will never understand though why people are afraid of getting older. I think it's a blessing to get older as the older you are the wiser you become. The sooner people get it in their heads that you cannot escape getting older the eaiser life would be. Just like Prince says in his song Gold... "what's the point of being young if you aint going to get old?" So old age should be embraced and not feared.
As for you I'm glad you appreciate the little things.. that's being wise already. Just embrace every grey hair and take it as a sign that there's a new adventure awaiting just for you.. happy my lotting
