If a glowing meteorite landed in your back yard one night what would you do with it? personally I would poke it with a 15 foot stick, than a metal pole (to see if it has any sort of electrical charge created by friction), than i would touch it and take a picture so that i could say "I've touched a meteorite" . But thats just me, also: what would you expect to happen if you touched meteorite? Do you think you would get super powers, maybe a space disease, or even a second head.

The problem with some meteorites is that they may be radioactive in nature so I would worry about touching it at first, if after a radioactivity test showed it was safe and leaving it for some time to cool, I probably would touch it, it is the closest I would get to go into outer space. In documentaries and articles that I have read they say that these rocks feel different to normal rock, heavier in ratio to size and weird texture. I would probably phone my local university, maybe they would be interested in it or mapping it as they try to map the meteors that land on earth if above a certain size, if not I would keep it. I find the superpowers and the developing a second head from touching it unlikely, space diseases who knows.

Hi hackle, I think that I would report it as the people who study these things might be able to learn a lot from it. I'm sure that I would also be interested in looking at it myself as well. Blessings.
