There are these saints who had become part of our Catholic life.
Each of them has their own fascinating way of believing in God.
They uplift the spirit of each person who take them as a role model because of their faith.
They're canonized as saints for us to make them as our example in living the Catholic way not to thouroughly worship them to set aside God as our Lord.
Here are some of the saints who I have known and become part of my life in our Catholic school:
St. Charles Borromeo - one of the towering figures of the Catholic Reformation
St. Albert the Great - patron saint of scientists
St. Agatha of Sicily - patron saint of breast cancer patients
St. Pius X - a pope; patron saint of emigrants of Treviso
St. Andrew - one of the apostles; honoured as patron saint of Russia and Scotland
St. Ignatius of Loyola - founded the Society of Jesus or Jesuits
St. Therese of the Child Jesus - known as "The Little Flower of Jesus"
St. Ezekiel Moreno - patron saint of cancer patients
How about you? Who are those saints that keeps you motivated in life?

Before I forget. lol
I love St. Thomas More--he's awesome. He's a great saint to look to whenever you're persecuted for the Faith.
St. Pio of Pietrelcina is another one I look to. Actually, I've just started looking to him. For some reason, he's wriggled his way into my heart. :D

The woman who raised me put me in catholic school and took me to church every day. The Nuns taught us to pray before the statues. The rosary was used to count the prayers to the "virgin mary" and the "holy ghost". We were taught to "pray to our patron saint". If you lost something, you prayed to the "patron saint of lost things" I have forgotten his name but he would help you find it.
Don't tell me that catholics do not pray to their saints and statues. If you are going to do something, why deny it. Why not come out and admit it?

What are we denying? Yes, we do pray to the Blessed Mother and to the saints--we just don't WORSHIP them. That would be flat-out idolatry if we did.
Do you know how Evangelicals and other Christians ask their friends to pray for them during a time of need? It's the same principle here, only the intercession of Mary and the Saints are so much more powerful because they are with Jesus in heaven.
If you say it's wrong to pray to our Mother and our saints, you might as well stop asking your friends here on earth to pray for you.
By the way, you sound so hostile. Why?

Is that Saint Anthony de Padua?!
I think, he's the patron saint for lost things. ^_^
