Good day. Is only luck the reason why some discussions receive a lot of responses? Having many friends may also help but others said that timing is the best way to receive many responses. Is there a counter here if how many users currently online? Enjoy posting...

Hi,friend,i too posted this type of discussion, not exactly same. For that i got responses and i came to understand from that response---1]there is no timing effect on getting responses.2]Eventhough we got many friends, there may be no gaurentee that every friend will give response to our every discussion..3]Sometimes when we post catchy discussions other than friends also give responses.

Well, based from your conclusion, maybe luck is the reason why a discussion receive lots of responses. Having more friends just increases the chance that you can get more responses. About the timing, even a discussion is posted on the time many users are online, it is not guaranteed to get more responses, if it is really interesting, users who dig even old discussions will respond on it. Having a catchy title can help but depends mostly on the content.

Hi boogerman, even if I'm interested in a controversial subject I won't start a discussion about it as don't want to possibly have to deal with confrontational people, but anything else I think of, usually spontaneous, goes on, as long as I have enough interest in it myself to deal with the responses it might generate.
Sometimes I post a topic not expecting more than a couple of responses as know it won't appeal to many people and that to me is a waste as they will be the topics I would like to discuss. The general ones get much more responses and I'm getting lots more responses too quite often. Maybe friends will respond as they like my discussions and know I'll always respond back. I don't think it is timing as we're all on differnt time zones but it's sometimes handy to leave your last response pending and answer it later to fit in with another time zone.

You have a point there, the number of online users varies with time. And I noticed that it is close to the time when the earnings are usually updated. And your suggestion about leaving the last response pending then reply later when a lot of users are online was effective because I also noticed that. Have a nice day!

As well as a catchy title and placing your discussion in a popular interest there are two other factors in my opinion.
A user who comments back to the responses received on a dicussion is more likely to see the same users return on the next one. Then after commenting on the responses, if you then go and respond on a discussion started by each of those who respond on yours you are also likely to get another response from those users.
It's like give and take, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours and the more responses you receive the more hits your dicussion will be receiving therefore the more it will be seen by others.
You will get there too with practice!

Based on more than half a year of experience... the right timing has a lot to do with it. There are several "peak" times on myLot (too bad I couldn't personally log them, I just know there are those times) where there are a great number of members online. When you post at THAT peak time, then you have a greater chance of having more responses on your discussion because it appears in the popular "new" discussions tab.
Also, there are certain discussions that are more popular - I think "mylot" related discussions is one of these. And other general discussions that ask for the respondent's opinions are more popular than those asking for an answer to a specific question.
How a discussion title is worded is also important.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Well, I also notice that, there is a time that a lot of members are online. It is near the update of earning. Before the update, I notice that there are more new discussions on that time, means many users are online. It was around 9:30pm to 1:00am in Philippine time.

Yes, lots of factors will go into it. The time you post the discussion, the category in which you post the discussion, the traffic of mylot at that time, the number of friends you have, how much the topic is interesting....and a lot more.....so altogether I can say LUCK.
Thanks for responding to my discussion.

You are right, but there are times that even the topic was interesting, only few members are online on that time so only few post a response...

Hi there!
I think receiving a lot of responses depends on how catchy the title we have for our discussion. In my experience I always find it interesting to respond on topics when it catches my attention. Discussions that can relate to a lot of people is also a good point in receiving many responses.
The number of users online could also help but only for a day. If the discussion is really interesting it will continue receiving responses as the days go by.
There is no counter that will show how many users are online for the day. Me, I just estimate how many are online by checking how many new discussions are coming in or being submitted for the day.
Ciao!

I dont think so that luck is the reason to receive many responses. I think it depends on your kind or type of discussion. Having lots of friends is one way of attaining lots of responses but of course you have to have a catchy discussion and sometimes the time you post your discussions so have to make sure that lots of people are online when you post your discussion maybe around 2:00-3:00 in the afternoon philippine time. Hope you will receive lots of responses in the future for it is amazing to receive one......
