I enjoy using daily devotions because there is always something inspiring and uplifting in it. I only use those that as based on the Word of God.
I also write my own daily devotions each day during morning quiet time. I believe that God is talking through His Word and gives us lessons and encouragement. I reaad from Scripture and write whatever I experiece God is saying to me. I have had some great experiences in this way.
I am thinking af starting a daily devotion here on mylot in the form of discusions. People can then reply to it either with a devotion of their own or comment on what it meant for them. Some of the devations I have written are just so presious that it cannot just stay im my posession, I have to share them. I just want to make it clear that I do not want to claim credit as author of these devotions, but give all credit to God.
Good idea or not, what do you think?
What is your overall opinion of daily devotions?

beertjie! many people are asing, how does one acquire godly devotion? the appostle
peter explained the key to acquiring daily godly devotion. he said: may undeserved
kindness and peace be increased to you by an "accurate knowledge of god and of jessus our lord, forasmuch as his divine power has given us freely all the things
that concern life and godly devotion, through the accurate knowledge of the one who
called us through glory and virtue. so to supply godly devotion to our faith and
endurance, we must grow in accurate, that is full, or complete, knowledge of god
and jesus christ. possessing accurate, or complete, knowledge of god and jesus in-
volves two things: (1) getting to now them as persons - their qualities, feelings,
and ways - and (2) imitating their example. godly devotion involves a heartfelt,
personal attachment to god and is made evident by the way we live our lives. therefore, to acquire it we must get to know god personally and become thoroughly acquainted with his will and ways as far as this is humanly possible.

Yes you are right. We must learn all we can about God. The more we spend time with Him, through Bible study, prayer and also spending yime in fellowship with other believers, the more we will get to know Him. We are imperfect humans depending on God's grace and mercy. He said in His Word that those who seek shall find. If we truly seek Him and His will, we shall find it.
The more we know God, the more we fall in love with Him and the stronger our personal relationship with Him will grow. These daily devotions that I am writing is from time spend with God, reading His Word and praying, then riting what He lays on my heart.
May you be blessed with a great knowledge of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Blessings

beertjie! godly devotion begins at home! godly devotion should be practiced first
at home. (says the apostle paul) if any widow has children or grandchildren, let
these learn first to practice godly devotion in their own household and to keep paying a due compensation to their parents and grandparents, for this is acceptable
in god's sight. caring for aging parents is an expression of godly devotion. true
christians provide such care not merely out of a sense of duty but because of love
for their parents. more than that, though, they recognize the importance that god
places on caring for one's family. they are well aware that to turn their backs on their parents in a time of need would be equivalent to disowning the christian faith.

I have no daily devotion like reciting an entire bible verses or praying an entire rosary decades or whatever religion you have guys and gals. I duly respect whatever religious dominations, groups or sects you belong. My only devotion is to live a a good person and trying to live by examples, through my acts, words and the way I treat and response to other fellowman. I do pray at less everyday, sometimes I forget but I do try to take it seriously. I believe that the only consolation that we have here on earth is to be contented and be thankful whatever things we acquire in life. Learn to live at it's fullest and let learn to be happy with simple things.

I all for your devotional. I can't wait to read about what you have to share with us, about our Lord. It's a really cool idea to start a myLot devotional section, hope the idea stirs up the hearts and minds of believers all over the world. I appreciate your initiative to spread the Good News.
I personally follow the daily bread devotional by the RBC ministries and it has blessed our family so much.
If we have been blessed, why not share the blessing with others.

What you're doing is right. Keep it up!As for me, my daily devotion is in the sense of praying every night, having a short conversation with God, and going to Church at least once a week, respect other religious group or sects, try my best to participate in some religious activities like charity missions. I admit I don't read Bible that often and I guess there's nothing wrong with it. As long as my heart is with God and I know how our Lord is the best, it certainly is an enough thought for me to stay my daily devotions with HIM.

Hi
I strongly believe in devoting and worshiping! I always believe that there is a super power which controls this world. Whether it might be good or bad, keep on worshiping, it gives us a power to hold strong!

I think it's a brilliant idea and I'm all for it! I also follow the daily devotions on RBC ministries. It is good to share what God has done for us through his word. Daily devotions are a great way of getting back on the spiritual wagon if you've slipped or if you just want to refresh yourself with the knowledge of the Almighty God. So count me in.. I would love to hear the devotions that you have.. God Bless you for implanting such a wonderful Idea! xx

daily devotions can be of any form... coz it represents something done regularly... like saying thanks and reminding ourselves of every blessing that we are grateful for. I'm used to talking to myself whenever im on a jeepney, travelling on my way to some place and since im not really doing that entire time and instead of worrying about stuff i choose to do something constructive like thinking about good things, what should i do if things like this happen and what good things i can share or anything that will surely make me smile and keep my spirit still.
