how do you deal with when you met a bad tour?

In 2005 I had booked my flight to Cancun and I was so very much looking forward to going off to explore some of Central America. However there was a terrible hurricane and the airline canceled my flight. So the travel agent gave me a refund. I was sad and was desperate to go anywhere tropical. I rang a few travel agents and one offered me a flight to Male for £200. I jumped at the chance and rushed off to the library to get a book about the Maldives. I realized it was very expensive there. I stayed 5 nights on Asdu Island, 2 nights in the capital and 7 nights on Gan Island. Accommodation and transport whether by boat or plane was extremely pricey. I had a very bad experience there that was incredibly scary. I was attacked whilst walking along a deserted beach. I still go traveling only I take more care.
