Anything that adds variety to your diet is good whether you are a vegetarian or not. The meat substitutes enable vegetarians to cook meals that you would normally use meat for, so you can still eat things like shepherd's pie or sausage, egg and chips. Most of them taste good, are high in protein, have very little fat and best of all don't smell like meat (when you are a vegetarian the smell of meat can make you feel really sick). Oh and they are much cheaper as well!

I use Yves Veggie Cuisine Veggie Ground Round for my spaghetti with meat sauce or shepherd's pie (and a bunch of other stuff). I also use meatless chicken or beef strips for wraps, stirfry's and meals like that.
You're right, at this point just smelling the food my neighbors cook makes me sick to my stomach.

I know there is veggie meat out there...I don't know the names of them but they are textured like meat!
