manny pacquiao and politics

Hi all! Please don't get me wrong...I am pro-Manny Pacquiao. That is, as a boxer. I have actually been for him all this time, even during those times when other people doubted if Manny could still win because of his difficult fights. I would even defend him in conversations and even prayed hard for his victories. He is a fellow Filipino and as such, I want Filipinos to win. I don't have crab mentality, I am proud of accomplishments of fellow Filipinos especially in the international scene. I don't bet, I just feel proud not only about Manny's winnings but more because of his abilities. But please, Manny is certainly not for public office. Somebody should really talk some sense into him. First of all, instead of politics, he should focus his efforts in boxing. Second, instead of gambling, Manny should be investing his money where it will grow, as we could not tell how long Manny will remain fully capable of beating opponents in the ring. Manny doesn't need to earn more money. He needs to make the money that he has grow. Thirdly and most importantly, he should give his attention to his family. He is away for a long time during his training and getting into politics would just mean more time away from his family. His kids are already growing and he needs to spend more time with them. It is best that Manny Pacquaio should stay away for politics. I respect him as a boxer, and I think many other people feel the same way. He really should know his place. He should not let people just talk him to do just about anything. He has already tried the race once and he lost. So I do hope that Manny will no longer believe what those people are telling him. They are just using him.

I think Pacquiao should not enter the politics. There many politicians here want to use him and his money. For me he needs to concentrate to his boxing career. Politics is not for him if he really wants to help the Filipino there are many ways to do that. Politics here is so dirty. According to the news he is really determine to run again. I remembered when he runned for Congressman in the last election many take an advantage of him because of the money. I think he going to lose again in this upcoming elections.

i second the motion. i admire manny pacquiao, his abilities, his humbleness, his spirit. but, please, not into politics. everything has its own place and definitely politics isn't his. whoever advises him should really think twice or thrice or thousand more times. if only to help the commoner, he can always do that outside of the political arena. it's not that i am underestimating his understanding of the law, but i guess there were instances where he was swayed of doing things which later on got him into trouble (e.g. Bob Arum-Dela Hoya contracts, GMA 7/Solar Sports - ABS-CBN issue). Had he had enough knowledge of the scope of those contracts, these would have been avoided. i'm afraid he might be used by people who know better. Manny is just so humble, he can be abused for it. his boxing career will not last a lifetime, but surely there are other things he could concentrate on.

I agree with you. He should avoid politics. It is not his forte and Im sure that he can help more people if he would not immerse himself in politics. With the fortune he has, helping a lot of people is really something that he could concentrate on. He is in a different league compared to those people who enter politics not help people but to steal their money and ruin their future.

I feel the way about Manny's intention into getting to Politics. He's a good boxer and an inspiration to us Filipinos, but certainly Politics is way beyond his lever.and he would certainly rot in Politics because people there would keep using him until they are done with him and make controversies that would forced him to resign. Politicians moves are so predictable. .

I dont like him joining the politics at all. He's a very great boxer and one of the all time greats but I doubt him being a good politician. Politicians here are known to be crocs and sad to say, once Manny became one, he'll be one of them coz of the influences by the old crocs and trapos around him.. Poor Manny..

I totally agree with everything that you said. Let's face it, Manny is the best in boxing but not in politics. He is intelligent in boxing and boxing strategies but this intelligence in the boxing arena is not enough for politics and sadly, the stark reality is that he is not in possession of this kind of political intelligence. He participated in a political race once and he lost. Why does he have to do it all over again? Filipinos adore Manny as THE boxer and not as the politician. Even the Filipino masses like sidewalk vendors and security guards think Manny should not enter politics because it may just destroy and tarnish his heroic image. I agree with your opinion that Manny should invest his winnings wisely and not indulge in gambling anymore. As we all know here in the Philippines, Manny has a love for one specific gambling which is cockfighting and he bets really really high on these. He should stop gambling and invest. He can also donate to charity.

Hi spoiled311! It looks like Manny had his eyes already in 2010 elections. The introduction of his coming from Saranggani, Philippines already, and dropping the usual General Santos indicates his political plan in this province. I really do hope that Manny will change his mind and come to realize that he will be more useful in boxing than in politics. And besides there are many ways in helping the people and your country if that's the reason and intention why he's pursuing a political life.

Same sentiment with you there. I have seen Manny really preparing for this to happen since he even transferred his residence to Sarangani to be able to run against an opponent that he thinks he could beat since he was not able to make it in his home city because the congresswoman there did won against her. I think he is set there to run in Sarangani, and we'll have to watch and see if again he would be given a chance to win on a political seat because of his popularity.

I think it was on 24/7 or some other show. Pacman seems to have a genuine interest in serving the Filipino people and as for his businesses he actually has a full business management team guarding his investments and yes, he own several businesses already. I think there's nothing wrong with Pacman looking for ways to serve his country but he better watch out people are lining up just to use him. He might become another FPJ. You know also, there are alternatives to politics he could follow what many hollywood do and go into Philanthropy and set up charitable foundations.

If he is trying to replace someone not worth staying in an office, then by all means, yes he should run and knock out whoever those politician are. Unfortunately, Sarangani and Gen. Santos are in good hands as of the moment. I don't think Manny can do better replacing them. The best way is for him to complement the local governments there in their endeavor to bring the province in its full potential. Oh, I'm not sure about the gambling part. What I know though is Manny raising fighting chicken. In some way, his money can grow there and it is good for those who are tending those animals.

yes i think he needs to focus to his boxing carrier than moving to politics. Because he has the potential to win in boxing rather than politics, he should spend his money wisely than joining gambling. I notice his abilities to care for our fellow Filipino, he is a family man and God fearing also.
