How many of you try to lose weight and can never stick with it? I always say I'm going to go on a diet and excercise more. I do really good for a good 3 weeks and then something happens and I stop. Then never get back into the routine again. Here ive put on some pounds that ive lost and I wanan go back into trying to lose weight again and get into shape. I only eat 1 or 2 meals a day and I never snack during the day. I'm gonna start using the treadmill more often and now that the weather is nicer i'm going 2 start walking to work instead of driving. What else is there I can do to help lose weight? And how can I help keep motivated into doing this every day? My Boyfreind tells me I don't need to lose weight and doesn't want me to. He says Im sexy the way that I am, but I wanna do this for me. I'm self conscious about my body so I'm doing it for me...Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

It would be nice if you could find someone who would program with you.. Additional exercise is always good and has more benefits than simply losing weight.
You are probably eating too little. If you do not eat enough your body goes into "save it all up mode" because it thinks you're gonna starve! you might try a couple of different things.
One is to try a food journal. I use it to keep my calories under a certain amount each day. It works okay most of the time I jsut get tired of doing it!
The other is try eating 6 healthy mini -meals a day. It will help your body process your food properly. That with the exercise will surely do the trick.
Good luck... and always do it for yourself!

i don't like to eat all day. And it's hard to when I work too. But when I get bored at work I just wanna eat n have snacks n stuff. I'm trying to get outta that habit now. I just eat one or 2 big mealsa day n that's it...And starting to excercise more now too. So I hope in time I will lose the weight I want 2.

Well, when you get bored at work and want snacks.. just try to have some healthy alternatives on hand so that it won't have to feel like you are losing ground, but you won't get so hungry either!

focus on your ultimate goal to either lose a certain amount of weight or to fit into a cute outfit. make exercise a part of your daily routine just like brushing your teeth. once you get used to always doing it it will be easier. doing it for yourself is the best way to be successful. good luck and don't give up, you can do it.

mostly, I would say only your partner will keep you motivate but now your boyfriend said it is ok. I would say, you should set up a goal to do this. let say, set up long far you should go and what will you do each day. when you reach to date and month you had set then you should give yourself a reward and enjoy what you have done. and then set another goal for another few months. To do this, you need a Calendar and write down everything you must do each day. And you have to follow your schedule. Good luck

But the biggest thing that I find helps me...Is I always or most of the time seem to always feel hungry my Mom asked me one day how do I do it I said Mom I poor a big glass of water...Drink it all before sitting down to eat then poor another the water that you drink seems to take the edge off the hunger and fills you up faster good luck hope this helps!

I think you are the only one to yourself who will get some motivation. just try to see yourself in a large mirror everyday which will give you an urge to get thin as early as possible i think. i am also over weight with a bit of tummy out. i try my best to loose but many times i fail to but i stil try for it.

You are so right Archie. The only one who could motivate yourself to lose weight is yourself. Your Personal Trainer or your family and friends could give you pep talks everyday, but if you don't have it in you that you can do it + you have to do it, it won't help. You really should have the initiative to motivate yourself.
Standing in front of the mirror helps. I also do that and I'm happy to share that the last two weeks, I am pleased with what I am seeing each time I see my reflection on the mirror. Another thing that I do is that I watch episodes of The Biggest Loser. Sure, there are days when I get so tired to get my butt out of the house to run or to go to the gym, but each time I see the contestants in The Biggest Loser, if they're working so hard and I'm way smaller than they are, then that gives me no reason to slack off.
One thing that we should always keep in mind is that we are on this road to losing weight because we want to make ourselves better and we're doing it not for other people, but for ourselves.

To put this harshly. There is no diet that will work if you lack the willpower/motivation. And your aim with this is not to "looking god in the bikini for the summer" kind of thing. And you are a person that tried different kinds of diet...
(basicly every kind of diet works...) This is not the problem, You should fixing these issues with willpower/motivation before staring the diet.
Basic Diet Rule: Eat less + Exercise. Your body/brain will be screeming for food. And your brain will be screeming for rest. This is what your body/brain acustomed over the years. Over time your body/brain will come acustomed to your new lifestile...This time is very individual, but allways take way, way longer than some kind of tree week ting...

I find I generally have the same problem unless I have a goal I'm going towards. And even then, it is very difficult for me to stay motivated. Well, I should say it is difficult for me to find the time to exercise. My motivation is still here, I'm just so busy.
I can't diet if I actually have to get stuff done because I'd be too weak. So most of my weight loss program is exercise. I try to just make it become a routine. Which works until my entire routine gets messed up by something.
My current motivation is that swimsuit season is quickly approaching.

i couldn't motivate myself either. I always failed whenever i attempt but i really want to lose some weight like you. I don't have exercise either which is quite alarming to me right now. Ever since i started working online i less exercise, i couldn't control my eating. I eat unhealthy food and i always stay at home. Well i know its my fault because i let it happen but i would like to get some tips here as well. Thanks

i wish i had the answers for you because i am struggling with the same issues as far as staying motivated is concerned. my heatlh alone should be reason enough but my life is so stressful and my schedule is so overwhelming right now. in june it will ease up a bit and in october it will ease up even more so i just have to keep my eye on the ball and keep going until then. i am not going to give up trying between now and then i just know i will be able to dedicate myself to it more fully once things ease up a bit for me.

hey.. seems like you are doing almost everything to get back in shape... and you seem like a self motivated person.. what you would need is for someone to bring you to your senses..yes , you heard me right. you plump woman... grow up... nobody wants you to get back in shape.. it would be easier to live i this world knowing there is someone more obese than you are.. you stay exactly the way you are.. eat more .. never restrict your meals.. never walk on foot.. always drive...
hey relax... see, the more i agitate you.. the more you will feel like kicking the hell out of me.. but i am afraid its a bit complicated than that... but what you can do is to prove me wrong.. turn your frustration into your strength... you tell yourself.. i am gonna show that bloody son of a ***** what i can achieve if i want to.. nobody is gonna stop me... not even god.. every negative comment you get.. make it your source of inspiraton to prove each and everyone of them wrong.... if nothing else.. you will feel liberated by the effort.. see you around..;)

Hi Blondie, i used to be very bad at keeping up with my motivation to reduce, but last year i decided to be firm with myself. I have not really done anything much except that i go for walks regularly both in the morning and evening and in fact, i walk almost everywhere these days. I eat normally except that i don't eat Ghee and butter and have cut down on sweets and rice. I have reduced 5 kilos in 8 months or so which is good enough, i am not looking for any drastic weight reduction, hope this is helpful- all the best to you

hi there!
well i suggest in loosing weight, one important thing that u have to understand is that because you are loving yourself. you should do it not only to please other poeple but you need it for your self improvement. once you have set this number one goal then everything will follow. im also on a diet or loosing weight before but i did not skip meals. i still eat my regular meals including snacks with in 24 hours for 5-6times but with limited amount. you dont have to wait for you to crave on somefood that u want to eat because you are depriving your body and that tends you to eat more even for two meals. walking is also best and keep an attitude that will inspire yourself while doing this things for yourself. happy weight loosing:-)

I understand what it feels like to try to get back in a routine. My husband says the same thing to me, "he likes me the way I am". But you are doing it FOR YOU, not him. so keep that in your mind. Also snack during the day, on healthy stuff. Also, make your meals a little smaller. I have done with and have lost 10 pounds. (also pick an hour of the day to do your exercises). I wish you luck.

Keep your goals in front of you AT ALL TIMES!
If you have an outfit that you want to fit perfectly into, hang it on the wall where you can see it constantly.
Don't waver. Whenever you feel to give up, remember your goal and why you're doing it!
STICK TO IT!!
