There's no excuse for being treated like that. Whether you have a penny or a million dollars in this bank, they should treat all customers with courtesy and respect. You did right in speaking to the bank manager. I'm sure there are plently of people who would like her position, and the bank can find some other department for her to work in where she doesn't have to interact directly with customers. Did the manager appologize for her behavior?

this is acommon sight at government offices. many of the employees feel that their job is secured and they can do any thing they wish to. they take their own sweet time to do your work. but there are many people who do their work genuinely also. once in a bank the same thing happened with me... when i objected i was told that the server was down and the computers were no working. so the bank employee was not at fault.. but still she was at fault because she should have immidiately told the customers that the systems are not working and the process would be delayed...

Oh CHIMRANI! Sometimes it is quite irritating.Once I did become very impatient. This was a few years back when I had some odd transaction at the bank[in fact it was long back before Bank of Madura merged with ICICI and became ICICI bank.]Now you would find my story really strange but this really happened. There was a vendor who had some savouries and odd little items with him and this [clerk] woman was busy paying him and buying those savouries from him and packing them in her bag.She made me wait till she finished her purchase ;she was so engrossed doing it and I nicknamed her 'murukku aachi' ['savoury aunty']at home and ever since that episode I used to refer to her as 'murukku achi'.Ihad gone there in the afternoon after 3 oclock and the bank was definitely on its working schedule at the time.THis woman was one of the most inefficient ones ever seen. After the merger, I did not see her.Perhaps she had been transferred to some other place where she could have switched over to another vendor selling something else.. But I did not register any complaint .

Hello my friend chimrani Ji, There are always odd characters visible everywhere. I remember, while my hubby was in service, he was a teacher during those days, he thought of taking out money during 'interval-time' In those days, one has to get token for getting amount beyond tellar counter. As he was getting late for his class, he carried the bank token without making any complain and returned in the evening after completing all his ervice duties. Bank wa swaitin for lost token After that incidence he never had any problem. One must find one's solution to avoid recurrence of the same. May God bless You and have a great time.

It all depends on you. If that bank really displeases you, see if you can change to a bank with better service - if you value service highly enough.

Hai chimrani, first of all you can not hate any lady, ok? When do you learn to love them? Have you observed people chewing gums etc? They do that to concentrate on their work. To avoid tensions of work load if any. Coming to the bank issue, the lady account doesn't mean to ignore you, as long as I can understand, she'll have had some important work tension that to be completed first and she'll have no time. She would have thought after that she can handle you. Think from their side. From morning to evening they'll have to answer hundreds of visitors, right? A well-educated decent guy like you lost patience and gave complaints means I think you need not have done that. All the bank staff behave like this. But I'll wait till they receive me. Then they'll respond to me politely.

Although sometimes I am not satisfied with the bank because I don't think they are efficient. It is always crowded there. However, the bank staff will never eat something or even drink something when they are on duty. They work like a machine. I love China

Hello chimrani, So many times it happens here. Some times they just act double standard. When they see foreigners walk in or when you dress up, they will attend to you politely with a broad smile. But if you turn to be a local who loves to dress down, they just ignore you like you are a beggar on the street.

You should not feel bad. The nest time you go to the bank ask the manger what action has been taken regarding your complaint and if it were me I would require the bank to apologize. What kind of a bank are they anyway?

yes it happened to me... all you have to do is report those kind of people... it's such a shame that they cant be courteous and respectful to their customers. you should've given her a piece of your mind. when something like that happens to me, before i just keep my mouth shout, but now i dont anymore, as i find these people disrectful, so i say it out loud what i thought about her and give her the look she deserves. you'll notice these kind of people will become kind and courteous to you right away. i am not there asking for their favor, it's their job to do entertain their customers and keep us satisfied.

I hate everybody in the bank, they're so slow. I was paying by bills one time and she forgot about my paper that somehow have been misplaced in the files she's working on, its really annoying. It usually takes me an hour or two just to transact a simple business with them.

I’m sure it’s a public sector bank! I have faced this many times with my bank but since the entire family has accounts in this particular branch, my husband can really take the upper hand with the guys behind the glass! It’s the worse in the morning really…people like us rushing to office and just wanting to do some little job at the bank and these people behave as if they have done us a big favour by being just present at their desks. I have tolerated such high-handed attitude many times and since then my hubby does the bank jobs for me.

That bank lady is definitely in the wrong, because she's supposed to be in the service line, and that she should keep a clean image of herself.. During working hours, she should not even be chewing or eating anything.. That's very unprofessional of her.. I have not experience such a thing before because i seldom go to banks.. lol =D The only experience i had, was when i'm trying to start a new savings account.. haha =D

Yes, i have had experiences ilke that but I never complained to manager because I think it would be a waste of time. I would be rather yelling at the bank person for not doing the job so, that I can get my job completed within time.

Hi chimrani, I used to be a bank cashier; it was a high pressure low paying job and I hated every minute of it but I always made it a point to be courteous to my customers because they were not to blame for my misery and everyone deserves good service. This is why your incident annoys me so much. This woman clearly has no interest in her job or the clients and she should be reprimanded because in my opinion, if you don't like your job look for another but while you are there do the best you can and make an effort to be polite.

i ever experience something like when you require for some information, they ask you to go to another department, when you go to another department, they ask you to go back to the first department
