I just got a Cricut!

OK My wonderful husband just bought me a Cricut for a birthday/mothers days present it it not the expression one but the one that is $188 at Walmart. I am wondering if I bit off more than I can chew with this think! The cartridges are so so high and I am the only crafter I know so I can't trade with friends. Does anyone own on and it is really worth it? But here is the big question like if you cut out say Mickey Mouse do you put in different color paper and it know to cut out the ears in black and so on then you just glue all the pieces together? I do not have the machine I am visiting family but he bought it. My niece loves it she has been playing with it! I know it is nice and works well but it seems like a whole lot of money to spend after the cost of the unit then each cartridge would it just be cheaper to buy the die or sticker at the store? I also think you can not use the coupons you get for Michaels,Hobby Lobby and Jo Anns for any Cricut products? Is that right? Anyway when it comes to crafts I am a big dreamer maybe not so much a doer!lol Anyway what do you all think? Thanks for looking! Happy crafting!
