I heard that in Madurai, south India, candidates are distributing saree and vashti (dress for men) for the village people. In Tamilnadu, government bus rates are reduced with an eye on elections and new constructions like roads and bridges are going on.
What do you say about this? What are the things like this happening in your state as a part of election?

Hi suprabha. You have mentioned that in Karnataka current will not go nowadays but it is not the case in TamilNadu. Even when the election is around, the current is getting snapped. According to me, this is one of the Mother of all the Elections. Who will forma a government is still a Million dollar question. After the drama by TRS and LEFT Parties yesterday, it's really difficult to predict who will be forming the government. I would wish BJP to form a government but i am afraid that Congress would form the government once again and come into power by all unethical means. Now the LEFT parties asy that they will consider supporting Congress after May-16 and TRS have openly extended their support to the BJP. The LEFT parties play a spoil sport in our Country's progress and they never help in the development of our country. I dont think that any government that is being formed now will be lasting for more than 2 years maximum. The coalition may fail a big time as it is going to be a post poll alliance with many smaller parties for both the congress or BJP to come into power.

One major plank under which elections is fought this time in tamil nadu will be the frequent power cuts. These types of cuts and that too in high summer has left many people fuming with anger. Everything will be shown in the election ballots i hope! The current TN government has put in a lot of publicity stunts, lets hope the people go beyond these stunts. The sad fact is JJ is aligned with the left and she will go form or break the government if she thinks she will get a better deal. She will be compensating for her 5 years of silence this time around. God save India and God save democracy!

In chennai, the bus fares have been reduced by 60% and the beauty is, the Honourable Transportation minister has told that he was completely unaware of the price hike. This is absolutely an Election stunt. When public were thinking that the revised prices will be inforce till the election, the older prices have come into force from today onwards(4/5/09) once again due to Election commision's warning to the ruling DMK government in the state. The wooing voters effort of the DMK government is very much taking all the Flop turns and sure the result for the election this time wont be a 40-0 favour for DMK.
