It really depends on what country you are living in, and what area of that country. For us in the Phils before hitch hiking is not really a way to get around we have lots of public utility vehicles even in the most inaccessible areas. Well we must accept that the days of leaving the porch door open at night and accepting hitch hikers are over. Its not that we are now in an age of mistrust, its just we are now in the age of mal-intent. Though I admit I am still a person who believes in the good nature of Humanity so may be if the Hitch hiker looks harmless enough (Meaning Cute) Lol may be I will let her in...into the car...into my life who knows. LOL
But then again always always be wary because its human nature now a days to hide your true nature and intent. Though everyone is capable of great good, everyone is also capable of great evil that is why I think Hitch Hiking is a dying habit for many.

In England it is illegal, I feel that even if the hitch hiker was a super fit woman I would not let them in for a ride. As life situations like this are very risky and dangerous.

I would definitely not give him/her a lift. Who knows they can be dangerous! I have seen it many times in movies.
The other reason is that when I look for any lift, no one cares for me, so why should I offer them my help. They don't deserve it!

In England if you see a road hitch hiker it is illegal to stop and offer them a ride. On moral ground I probably would stop and give them a lift. However seeing hitch hikers is dangerous as they might be asking for a lift only to commit a crime in the process.

Well it depends. As I don't drive its my boyfriend who drives or someone else so that person will decide if they gonna take the other one and eventuallly give him/her a lift. I think I will think twice before doing that because nowadays it is so dangerous to give lifts as the person can even kill you for petty stuffs.
