What can be asked about the Financial Crisis when interviewing a company?

Hello everyone! I'm a student and I'm not dealing with my thesis work, focus on the impact on current Financial Crisis on companies' financial performance. What questions can I ask when I have interview with them? (especially financial aspect is hard to ask)

I guess you need to ask with them What are their strategies to remain competitive right now? Do they have plan to lay-off their people?If they don't have plan, then what are their solution?
