I have earned some money and it has been transfered to my paypal account. I know we can link it to the bank account and get the money. But my hubby told me he concerned about putting the bank account number on paypal, wondered if it is safe. So he said I can purchase stuff on the internet that accept paypal payment.
So I have two questions:
1 - Is it safe to link the bank saving account to paypal? Are there any concerns?
2 - Do you know what online shopping site accept paypal payment? clothes? grocery? anything? Wher can I find those websites?I would be very happy to hear your responses! Thank you very very much!:-)

I have linked my bank account with Paypal and have done transfers several times since last year and so far so good. No problems whatsoever.
I believe Paypal is a secured site but if your husband is uncertain with linking your account number to Paypal why don't you use an account that only has the maintaining balance for its savings? The account I linked with Paypal never had any big amount in it. I just use it so I can have transactions with Paypal and withdraw the money as soon as the transfer is successful. In that way if anything goes wrong I will only lose a small amount of money.
There are a lot sites where you can buy using Paypal. The most popular site I think is Ebay. Just search the net for online market place.
Hope that helps. Ciao!

Well, I opened my Paypal account a week ago and so far, i still haven't earn enough money to transfer to it. But I have made up my mind to open an exclusive bank account for my Paypal. In that way, no matter paypal is safe or not, I won't suffer great loss.Besides, I think using the money in paypal to do some shopping is also a good choice.

I know that Amazon.com and Ebay.com generally accepts PayPal payment - it's very visible if the sellers accept PayPal, I believe you can even filter out those who don't accept PayPal so you'd have better seller options. As for security concerns of giving your credit card number, I have nothing to say about it because I created a bank account solely for PayPal. I only have like P200 in it to meet the minimum balance then that's all. I'll be using it only for PayPal withdrawal :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

When I started using paypal I was concerned about linking it to my bank account so I opened up a new checking just for my internet usage. Most banks offer free checking so you don't have to pay for your account and I have never even ordered any checks on the account.
Another thing you can do is get a paypal debit card. They are free and you can use them anywhere they accept mastercard. That way if you want to order something and they don't have a paypal payment option you can use your card. Did I mention that you can use your paypal debit card to get cash from an ATM? You can get up to $400.00 daily as long as you have it in your balance.
Paypal has really made it easier to use their services and I have never had a problem with them. I have been using paypal for several years now to buy, sell, send and receive money online.

Yes, I'm thinking about getting the debit card besides opening an extra bank account for getting the money, I tried but it needs my credit card number? Do you know anything about this? Thank you for your information!

Are you saying that the bank wants a credit card number? I have never had a bank ask me for a credit card to open a checking account. I may not have understood you correctly.
Paypal wants to link your account with some kind of checking or savings account so you have somewhere to send your money or send money to paypal if you want to. I know that you can link a credit card to paypal but you don't have to and I never have.
As far as the pre-paid credit card, that is just like a phone card or anything else. You can pay a set amount for the card and it can be used just like a credit card for the balance you pre-paid. You cannot charge the card for anything over what you paid in. The purpose of this is so that people who are not able to get a regular credit card can get one of these and purchase online or use it in whatever way that they need a credit card for.
Where I live the bank will give you a free checking account and I use that to link to my paypal and I just withdraw the majority of the funds and only leave a little in their so as to protect my money just in case someone got my information. I keep another account separate for my real balance.

I do not know how safe it is but what i did was open a bank account that is only used for the money i get from pay pal, i do not have it associated with the bank account that we do our household banking from..that way if anything happens nobody is going to have access to our money.

Hi mermaidlivy, Your hubby is right to be concerned. Its a very big resk to take,
paypal is said to be very safe but theres still no way i would put my bank details onto it. Lets say you signed up to a scam site you have to give them your paypal email for payment so all they need now is your paypal password they can get that by puting a tracker on your pc and before you know it your bank account will be cleaned out. Please take my advice don,t trust anything on the internet when it comes to money. Take care and be safe.

I have been a member of paypal for over 3 years now and I have had no problems with it at all and I am sure it is more secure then using a credit card or bank card online. They make sure that it is very secure. PayPal is great and I have had it linked to my bank account since the beginning of having my paypal and I would recommend doing it. It is safe and easy. Paypal makes it so easy buying online and paying for it also. I am sure you will get raves about how good and safe paypal is, and how safe it is to link your bank account to it.

I'm sure this is the same as what everyone else has said - but yes, PayPal is safe. I've had an account with them for probably close to as long as they've been around. I've never had a problem with them, and I've used them to purchase stuff too - although since it's linked to my bank account, I keep the money in my bank and it's transferred when buy something.

I believe Paypal is safe, I've been using them for awhile now and I've never had any problems with them. Its safe to link your bank with them also, they never give out your personal information to anyone, so if your buying something on a website, and if you use paypal, those people never get any of your bank info. paypal keeps that confidential, paypal just sends the money to them from your account, no information is exchanged whatsoever, its pretty safe.

I believe paypal is very safe. You can buy on ebay or most legetimate sites. Just shop well known sites. There are however some paypal scam letters going around. Never login to anything through a email link. Always go directly to a site to login.

I am sure someone has already answered this question for you but just in case, paypal has links on the web site for places that you can shop from online and they can send you a check if you prefer not to have the money transferred electronically.

It’s safe. Go to your account and look through the tutorials and FAQs and things like that about paypal. There’s a lot of information for you to know about it which should show you it is safe because they do not try to hide anything .There is even a place to file complaints and reports if you think something mischievous is going on. It’s about as safe as your bank account just be sure you’re password and usernames are confidential and don’t sign on to it in any public wifi places. Make sure you research good safe passwords to use. A lot of people use paypal and there are not many complaints about it.

Hi
Yes. It is absolutely safe and convenient to link your bank account with PayPal. I have this for years now. I can easily transfer money between the two. You should have no concerns. In fact it is convenient. It is safe. You can go ahead without any worries.

My husband had the same concerns, so I set up a totally separate account with my bank just for paypal deposits.
Paypal has a list of sites that accept paypal. My favorite is Overstock, Tiger Direct, and Walmart.
Note: I've had no problems with paypal. I rather like it.

in answer to your first question yes paypal is very safe i have been using it for some time now and and connecting your bank account to it is one way to get your account verified and if you do any online earning that is the way that they pay you and in answer to your secodn question if a swbsite accepts paypal as payment options it will be listed under payment options onntheir site which alot of places are now accepting it i think because its cheaper on the retailer and also tha way they know they will be getting paid for what you ordered because if you dont have enough money in your paypal account you cant order the item. it wont go through but i have to agree with your hubby a little bit on some of this.

If you are concerned you can always open up a new checking account and keep it just for PayPal. That way you keep your main bank account separate from PayPal and everyone is happy. I have some money accumulated in PayPal and will soon have to link an account to them if I want to remove money from the Paypal account.
