i have recently observed thats its very easy to downlaod movies and music of recent releases on net. i really and really think this is greatly hampering the movie and music industry. and something drastic should be done to stop this.

hhmm well I personally have to dis-agree to a certain extent. It is easy to dlownload movies before release tho the quality is usually awful. Tho the reason I dis-agree to a certain degree as from my point of view I download movies from time to time see if they are any good before I spend my cash on them. If the movie seems good then I will go and buy the original dvd if its not very good I just delete the file and I dont waste my money on buying the dvd. So from a consumers point of view if people are doing what I sometimes do then it means film makers have to make decent films to encourge people to buy them. Also the price of the dvd is ridiculous to stop the temptation of piracy the price of a dvd film should be lowered look at how much a dvd is to buy I can get them for about 30 pence each and thats a retail price. Tho new films cost anywhere between 15 uk pounds upwards no wonder some people dont like paying for the over priced films. Also remember when you record something on your dvd recorder you are actually breaking the law aswell but nothing is ever said about taping directly from the tv.

yeah i agree with you, though not the part about that the quality of downloaded movies usually is awful. i don't know where you are downloading from but i have never downloaded a bad quality film from any site. I usually do as you do too, i download a movie and watch it, if it's good i buy it. Though now i can't do that anymore because it has become illegal in my country now and there are huge fines etc. But i believe it was a good way to try to make the dvd prices go down.

You're wrong. The thing that's hampering the music industry is the music s@#*s.The movie industry can't come up with any original ideas.I used to copy movies on my computer. After awhile I was only copying older movies. How many Batman's do we need?Rap and hip-hop aren't real music.More kids today are listening to classic rock that they are new music. That should tell you something.

you have obviously catched on very late. this is something that has existed for a logn long time. And have you not heard about the pirate bay trial? the industry is trying to do something about this now. I can't believe you have missed out on this it has been a huge topic for several years.
