I only get olive on my pizza when we order a veggie or a supreme pizza. I never put them on pizza's I make at home. Olives seem more like a salad ingredient to me, sometimes on a sandwich is okay.

Yep! I'm thinking the same thing too.
Cause the next pizza that had olives on it tasted just fine.

I love black olives. They have a really rich taste to me. I eat them in eggs and on pizza and in lots of other settings.

I tried olives for the first time a few years ago, and while I like them, I've stopped using them on my subs. I can't say that I haven't ever eaten them on a pizza, but I'm a cheese or pepperoni woman myself. lol. I think that if an olive isn't fresh it probably has a bad taste to it.

My daughter loves pepperoni on her pizza so when we order, that's
all we get and everyone has some. For me, I would prefer to pile on the toppings.
I don't get pizza that often so it's nice to indulge in as many flavors as
possible. Usually I go for the Super Supreme. But of course, that is over kill.
LOL!

That's never happened to me, but I have to be in the right mood for olives on my pizza. I don't normally put them on mine. If I order a veggie lover from a pizza place then I won't ask for them to be taken off, but normally we make pizza at home so I decide the toppings, and I don't think I've ever put olives on it.

I don't like olives on my pizza either. I assume it is becasue they have so much liquid in them that the juices run throughout the pizza when they get hot. I always order them on the side for the exact reason you are talking about. I like olives but I don't want my entire pizza to taste like them!

Do you find this problem with olives in general, or just the olives on this partcular pizza? I love olives on pizza, in salads, just as little finger foods, any way imagineable, I'll eat them. My husband agrees, and loves them too. They're not for everyone, though. I think they give it a bit of a zing, but they don't generally change the entire flavour of the pizza.

I can't abide olives, I'm afraid. I know they're good for you but how people can actually eat them, I don't know. They eat them like a pickle! My favourite topping for pizza is one that I chose myself and I stick with it. It's Chili Beef and Pineapple and it's always delicious. I've never had a bad topping because I avoid the things I'm not so keen on.
Brightest Blessings my friend.

I guess they do if you don't happen to like olives! Personally i find them far too salty and would prefer not to eat them or have them as a pizza topping. The only really bad pizza toppings for me are pineapple (i hate it at the best of time let alone combind with ham!!!) and maybe something really, really spicy like hot peppes or too-spicy pepperoni. I prefer seafood pizzas anyway.

I think olives are an aquired taste and they do taste awful on a pizza. I have to pick them off if I get one with them on they are gross. I do not eat olives at all!!

I guess if you don't like olives it might give pizza a taste you dislike, but I love black olives on my pizza.
Onions, pineapples, mushrooms, peppers, broccoli, OLIVES, tomatoes, and most veggies I love on pizza, but my most favorite pizza tends to be plain cheese. Once in awhile I like toppings, but usually simple pizza tastes best!

I had olives about a week after the incident on another pizza. And it was a truly delightful experience. I believe that the olives were just bad. Sometimes fruits and veggies do go bad. These things happen. Thanks for being first to respond.

I do eat olives on my pizza, but my kids don't coz for them since they don't eat the olives, it tastes weird.
Sometimes, when I'm not in the mood to eat pizza, the whole pizza would taste weird for me, but it's just because I don't have the appetite to eat it.

The olive oil is one ingredients to make the pizza. One day when I ordered a pizza with olives on the top, I had to say that I didn't appreciate to its taste. Perhaps I don't get used to eat the olives. Later I will order the pizzas without olives.

I like olives, but not on pizza. some olives taste different to others though, so perhaps the ones you had there were particularly bitter. Our neighbours gave us some which were disgusting, they reminded us of goats!
The one topping I really cannot stand on pizza is anchovies. They make the whole thing taste bad so I can't even eat a piece which has been next to one which has them. Yuk!

Yeah I am not an olive person at all and I can see where it made the pizza taste sour. I have had olives on a store bought pizza with olives on it and it was okay but like I said I am not really an olive person. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

I love black olives on my pizza, haven't had them on one for a long time. The kids always pick them off Can't say I've ever had a bad topping on a pizza, but I have had it with either much too much sauce or much too little sauce.

Were they green olives or black olives? They each have their own distinct flavors. If it were green olives, perhaps you were not mentally ready for their tartness. If they were black or green it is possible they were old. Olives can really bite back if they are too old. It's like they spoil but you can only tell by the very bitter bite they have when you taste them.
