Alright. Well. Just wondering what everyone loves to listen to in general. Is is Pop? Hip hop? Maybe a little Jazz? Perhaps Techno? Rock? Rap? Country?
Yeah. There is a big list of different Genre of music. But what I don't understand.. Is which such a variety of music... Why do 90% of radio stations repeat the same 20-30 songs? I swear you don't get much of a variety on the stations. Especially the 'New hits!' They repeat them over and over and over and over.
Bleh. Getting a little off topic here. Anyways.. My favorite Genre of music is Rock. Whether is be classic, or a bit heavy, I love it all. Alot of people aren't sure what classifies a specific song into a Genre, mainly because the same band can have multiple genres for different songs. Oh well. What is your favorite Genre in general?

Lol, Hmm. Never really listened to Indy Rock. I don't think so, at least. Maybe I have without noticing it. I dunno. I like some of the 50s/60s/70s, but not toooo much of it. It can start to wear on you eventually.
Thanks for the reply.

im open to all kinds of genre, but what i like most is alternative rock and a little bit of r&b. i just dont like techno.
and my personal answer for your question that why do 90% of radio stations play the new hits? i think its because more people will listen to them because they like the new hits. of course, youll get tired of the old and has been good music. thats my point of view really.

Well, yeah. There is that. But. If I were most people, I would much rather a variety instead of either A: New. or B: Old.
There should be a variety on most stations, and some are dedicated to Old, or New. But there doesn't seem to be much in between. And as for your choice in music, it's good. I like techno just because it's a bit different from what I normally listen to.

I'm not tooo much on the emotional lyrics. I like to tend to stay unbeat alot, but sometimes.. and I mean sometimes.. I do like the emotional lyrics. I just can't take the emotional-ness all the time. Some of it is alright.. But alot of it can make you feel even worse. Never heard of the songs you listed, but might try and look them up a bit later.

I am not really a fan of rock music but I do appreciate the music of Aerosmith and Linkin Park since they are not really ear exploding but my favorite genre is RnB, they give me an upbeat feeling without having to explode my ear drum. Ballads, especially the slow ones, are like lullabies for me because I fell asleep easily when I hear them.

Ah. Yeah, I could see how people could not like the screaming and noise associated with some rock. BUT, not all rock is like that. I am a rather big fan of Linkin Park, not so much aerosmith. But, yeah. Not all rock is screaming, and noise. You just have to find what you like. It's all personal opinion. Not really a fan of Ballads, and I don't really listen to much RNB.

Some of the stuff on the radio is alright. Some of it is actually good. But, yeah. Most of it really really sucks. I like some metal, not much, though. Electronic is.. different. Techno is alright. Dunno about progressive or ambient. Rap, yeah. Most of it isn't talented.. So I don't have to worry about ever listening to it much.

I dont get stuck to any specific genre.
Listening to certain type of music always depends on which state of mind I'm in.
But most of the time its the melody that carries me....
Otherwise, I go for all variety of musics.
And in fact I love to hear a mixed genre. Continuous listening to one type of genre will make it so stereotypical and I hate it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Though, I don't really care what most people think about me. I am who I am, and what I am. Nothing will change that -- I would hope. But anyways. Yeah, a variety is good alot of the time, even I can't listen to ALL rock ALL the time. Gotta switch it up alot. Though, I never said this was 'What you listen to the most.' It's just what you consider more favorable.

My favourite genre in general is hip-hop. It is the music I can relate to most and I listen to quite a lot of it during the day. I try and make a few concerts each year. I also love other genres but hip-hip is my favourite.

Ah, so Hip-hop for you, is like rock for me. It's not that you don't like the others, it's just that you listen to Hip-hop more. As for concerts go, well, they never seem to be around me. Ever. And I'm not going to travel half-way to nowhere just for one. I would like to, but life seems to restrict it.

Actually I like to listen to songs from every genre (except country and rap). I'm not much of a band, person..either, so when people're trying to get a grip on the kind of music I listen to I'm usually entirely unhelpful.
I usually have to like the words and the beat, and that probably explains why I have a hard time liking rap or country.

Lol, yeah. Some country, and some rap is okay. But, I don't like much of it either.
The lyrics and the music must blend in some way for me, at least I'm not the only one like that.

My favourite has to be rock but included in that I am including punk, metal, nu-metal, ska punk, alternative rock, hard rock etc etc. There are so many different types of rock out there now it certainly isn't a boring genre.
As a child I used to love pop as this is what I had grown up with and all I knew...however once I started secondary school my ears and eyes were opened to "The Offspring". Ever since hearing "smash" I was hooked on screaming guitars and have been ever since.

Ah. Yeah. Different people get into different Genre of music in many ways. Radio, friends, parties, Etc. So yeah.
I grew up on country, yet, I dislike 80% of all country songs. I don't know why.
I like -Almost- every type of rock, 'cept maybe the really really heavy sort.

Good day, FluffyDoomKitten. Well, I prefer to listen at rock, especially heavy metal. That was awesome. The best part of them was the adlib where the guitarist do some tapping or sweeping. I like also the growls. When they scream, it sounds good. But for others, they consider it as noise. This is my response. Happy mylotting and have a nice day..

Good day to you, as well. I noticed alot of people like rock, mainly because it has a rather large variety of genre inside of it. Everything from Soft-Rock to Hard-Rock. I like the beat, and sometimes the lyrics. But for me, the words have to blend well with the music.
Thanks for the reply.

Well, first of all, I hardly ever listen to the radio and I don't really have a specific genre. However, there are some artists that I love listening to on a constant basis. One of them is Breaking Benjamin. I just love their songs and listen to two of them everyday (Home and Diary of Jane). Then, there is Stabbing Westward, Hoobastank and Sick Puppies. So, as you can see, I don't really go with what is popular today but more so with what appeals to me the most.
I find that most of the music today is not only too commercial but it all sounds pretty much the same. That is the reason why, when I find something interesting, I stick with it until I actually get sick of listening to it, lol!

Yeah. Alot of the music coming out is all based around the same things. But, some ARE creative. I try not to listen to the Radio much. Mostly, because it sucks. Anyways. Yeah. I listen to many Genre, just Rock seems to be my most played. I'll listen to anything that has a good rythem/beat.

Well I love music and I like all genres of music but I personally love Rock music! Well, Rock musics are not boring to listen to and they really show the skills of the musicians in playing their instruments. And I also like acoustic songs. They give me peace of mind when I have problems, the melodies are soft and cold to my ears so it's very refreshing when you listen to acoustic songs when you feel sad.

Cool. Rock does seem very popular, at least where I am from and most of the people I am around. I like both acoustic and vocal, but tend to not listen to as much acoustic. I don't really know why. Peace of mind is good, and it always a good thing to look at when choosing the genre of music good for such a thing. It seems each genre is good at doing something for somebody, but never really tends to be the same for everyone.

Hmm. I don't like too much of the heavy music, it does the opposite for me. It kills my ears -- Most of the time at least. Sometimes I wonder how some people can stand it, and why they aren't deaf yet. As for RNB, I don't listen to it much, not really my 'thing'.
