My mom is 70 years old and fixing her mothers day basket has been very easy. Since she is older she is not as active as she once was but she enjoys reading and doing seek and find puzzles. So her basket is 2 books from her favorite author, a subsciption to the seek and find magazine and a few gift cards to her favorite store. There is also a night gown in there. I had to force myself to buy her that. She only has about 1,000 night gowns. I don't know what the woman has about night gowns but she loves them!

Mother's day is an important day in every mothers life, but sometimes this is the only time they show their mother their love. Why not make everyday a mother's day buy not only giving her gifts but by simply text her or emailing or writing notes on post it, just say that you love her, or the best thing to give your mother is to always include her into your prayers. What kind of stuff is she into? If she really likes flowers you can always go that route. If you don't want to buy something that will parish but still like the flowers idea send her a bouquet of silk flowers they're gorgeous and last forever. If she's into things that make her smell good go to bath and body works they have a great selection to choose from. Like I said it all depends on what she likes and of course your budget.
