When my son was little around the age of 1 to 2 years old I used to have a routine such as clean his bottles, take a bath, watch television and maybe rest while he sleeps. But when he got older I sleep same time as he does because he cannot be left alone in a playpen or in a room since he loves to sneak to go downstairs. Nowadays, I regularly sleep with him in the afternoon and at nights because I want to spend time with him by chatting with him.

I seldomly sleep with my daughters during the day because that's the only time that I can do things without them disturbing my routines and works.
You should be careful if you have stairs. My older daughter is now 3 and she skipped the dangerous period of the stairs. But I'm worrying my second. She's 1 and very active child rather than her elder sister.
Thanks for sharing.

My baby sleeps around 8:30pm every night. Then I will do some laundry, I am glad that my baby can sleep when I am making lots of noise inside the bathroom. The bathroom is attached to our bedroom and our bedroom is very small, so it is quite noisy when I am washing the clothes. Most of the time, I choose to wash it once he fall asleep, he can hardly be awaken for the first half an hour. ;p After that, I will take time to do some quiet task like folding clothes. Sometimes I might do facial mask and online. On weekends, when my baby is sleeping in the morning, most of the time I will take my time to go out to pay bills and visit banks. During his afternoon nap, I will spend most of my time at home to go online or take a nap too. Ya, that's what I did when my baby is sleeping!

For me I sleep as soon as he sleeps. He is such a bad sleeper that by the time he goes to sleep I am exhausted from lack of sleep the previous nights and looking forward to a long night again.

Depends on what age the children are.. Mostly mothers sleep too, trying to catch up on their lost sleep the previous night if the children are really small. For older children, this is the time when mothers can catch up on their daily chores. Getting the house right, cooking meals, catching up on daily soaps can be some of them.
Since it's afternoon time, coffee and music and dvd's are a little strange at that hour of the day.

My children are 3 and 1 yrs old. I rarely took nap while they are sleeping during the afternoon, unless when I don't feel good.
At night, I can't also enjoy any music and DVD because I was too tired to open my eyes. Mostly I slept at 11 at the latest.
Like this, I tried so hard to enjoy music or DVD or even a cup of coffee in between the day.
