Hi famerbrown!
I go backwards and forwards between Italy (where I live) and UK (where I still have family).
I use one of the low-cost airlines and I have never ever had any problems at all. I book online and find the cheapest flight available and then just turn up at the airport.
I was away last time a couple of weeks a go and sure enough, for some strange reason, once again we landed ahead of time both going and coming back!
Back wind maybe?

lol... thats just about how I do it. Book the cheapest flight and get going. I have never had a problem with the cheaper flights either.
Come to think of it the last 2 flights I was on, we also landed early... maybe that back wind has reached us her in South Africa too...lol!

lol
I never buy food or drink on the flight because that costs a fortune. I either take something with me or wait until I land depending on what time of day I am flying.
I am perfectly happy with the low-cost sirline I use that I would never think of tryng one of the dearer ones. The safety measure have tobe the same for both so there is no problem with that either.
I doubt too that a low-cost flight would ever get hi-jacked as it wouldn't be important enough to make the news

Yes, I think all airline are pretty safe now a days! If you think about it the security that you go through to get into a plane is exactly the same no matter what airline you are on.
I feel the same way about buying food or drinks on the plane! That is always an outrageous price, long flights usually provide food or tea and coffee so I don't bother with shorter flights - rather just save myself a few pennies!

Well I want to go to Italy I heard that is the only way to get there. I am just scared with every thing that happen with the world trade center. I may try it if I had a sedative. like a valium or something so I don't have a panic attack.
My co worker just got back from Puerto Rico.
Your Welcome for the imput.

I choose an airline on its safety record and the convenience of it schedule. If two airlines are similar the price of the ticket will influence my choice. So far in my travels I have got some favorite airlines: Air New Zealand, Qantas and Virgin Atlantic. I am also fond of First Choice Airlines because it goes to some amazing destinations and it offers reasonable fares.
For my last trip I had the choice of three airlines, one went from my local airport but had inconvenient departure times and the other two went from the largest airport in my home country. I noticed all three fares were similar. So I decided on one of my favorite airlines.

I use only few airlines, I had good experiences in these airlines and will not change if there are no reason I have to change the airlines.
I use Cathy Pacific, JAL, and DragonAir often.

I always use the cheapest and have found that thereĀ“s not much difference between an expensive one and a cheap one except for the chair upsholstery. Even the food they give is about the same: worse every day that passes.
Take care

I would have to agree! I try not to eat the food on planes unless its a long flight and need to.
Thanks for your thoughts :)

I am using, the Philippine Airline here in my country. I prefer to use it since it is cheap and doesn't cost much. I am not really choosy to what type of plane i am in, i just want it to be comfortable but not classy. I didn't fly for the plane type but i am traveling for my destination XD

Great comment! So many people are all about having to fly in a fancy plane with lots of space, but you hit it on the nail! Its not about how you get to where you are going it is about the destination that you are landing at!

Hi farmerbrown!
It feels just great to leave a note here. I was gone in myLot for quite sometime, and glad to share some thoughts here in your discussion. I live in Philippines, and for this year, I have quite a few places to visit and discover. I travel through Cebu Pacific Airlines. It's also because the airline has lots of airline promotions and cheaper flights. The service is also good. :) And the customer service department are very much helpful. =) Hope this feels! Have a great time in traveling! (",)

sometimes we consider the prices for the cheapest airlines but most of the time it is what is available for your travel. when i joined my husband, the only available airlines for me is singapore airlines. it was not the cheapest flight at all but the price is good. food and accomodation is great! i do not believe that cheaper airlines is prone to accidents when we are flying. i think it has reasons from above. we should pray so we will be guided.

Thanks for your comment. As long as you are happy and feel comfortable that is what counts. Its defiantly not nice to sit on a plane and feel uneasy for the whole trip.

hi farmerbrown, i always take singapore airlines. it is more expensive but it is safer and the service is superb. whenever i travel between singapore and hongkong i take cathay though. it is cheaper and as it is just a 3 hour flight i opt for that and the service is as good!!! when i travel from singapore to england i will always take singapore airlines. i find the service and especially its taking off and landing the best among flight services. the landing is so soft that you wont feel the impact most of the time. cheers :)
