I purchased a 22 inch Soyo monitor from geeks.com. It has built in speakers. It did not come with an installation CD. I hooked it up but I can not get any sound. My microphone works through the speakers but any no audio from the internet. Does anyone know what I might be able to do to fix this problem? I have been searching online for installation hardware/software to no avail. I know I should call the company but I hate to be put on hold and it usually takes quite a bit of time on the phone so I thought I would post here to find an easier solution. Any help would be great!

Can I ask you, where do you have your speakers connected? Is the wire directly plugged into the back of the monitor? There might be an audio port on the back of the monitor. However, I bought a new computer and I inserted my speaker wire into the back of the monitor and I didn't receive any sound. I took out the speaker wire and decided to insert it directly into one of the sound ports at the rear of the computer instead. If you haven't done this then I suggest you do this. This worked for me and it may work for you if your situation is exactly the same as my own. Good luck and I hope that you sort this out. Andrew

I tried the wires like you suggested to no avail. My surround sound has a vga port in the back of the boom box that connected to my old monitor but the port going into my old monitor is permanent and can not be removed. The back of my new monitor has a usb port. I am thinking perhaps I should see if their is some kind or splicer available where i can connect from monitor to boom box. It's pretty complicated. I'm going to Radio Shack today to see if this can be done! Thanks for your help!

It sounds as if you have a dll missing. I would contact geeks.com to see if they have an installation disk or buy an installation Cd. Is it Windows Xp or Windows Vista? That is what happened to a friend of a friend of mine. The man who installed her computer kept the installation disk, and the ones my husband and I had did not work, so she had to track down this guy who came over and installed it.

I would go into your control panel and select the add new hardware and see if your computer detects it. Then you can choose to install it right from there and it shoudl work.
