Okay I hate nasty toilet seats. Especially public ones. But this "nasty" seat is my own in my house. Iy has chips in it and it can scratch your bottom. SO I am looking to buy a new toilet seat. No idea as to what type etc. Do you buy padded ones, heated ones, colored ones, or generic standard white seats when you replace yours? Do you have those fuzzy add ons as well for the seat and cover etc? I do not due to my dad. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I would not want a fuzzy one, yucky. hahaha I have only had the standard hard one and also have had the soft cushiony one. Those padded ones can get a split in them and pinch you!!! But they are so nice in the winter time. When we needed to replace this last time my son bought one and he got the standard hard one. I get white one usually. One time we lived in a house that had black tub, sink and toilet.....that color is so hard to keep cleaned.

I stayed at a Hoterl that had heated seats on their toilets. Man was that ever a great feeling though. Hahahaha! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I can imagine you getting that shock and leaping in the air to get away from it.

That would be great in the winter time. I wonder how they work? My luck something would short out and shock me. hahahaha

Luckily my dad has to sit so the seat doesn't get splashed like most do with men in the household. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Just a regular old toilet seat (whatever they're made of). I put seat covers on them but not tank covers. Tank covers get yucky...

I always had the issue of the lid not staying up with the cover on it. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I used to buy colored padded ones. I've recently decided that I don't like them anymore. They rip too easily. I like the hard ones but not in white. I don't know, there's something yucky about a white toilet seat.

I don't own any fancy schancy toilet seat covers. When I sit down on the thrown, my rear end touches the porcelain. I don't take pride in that though. please understand, I don't think I'm better than those who do use fuzzy covers on their seats. I like like the coldness of it... ...And, I don't want to fall asleep on the bowl. That actually happened to me one time. I was at a friends house, and asked if I could use their fortress of solitude. After 5 minutes of explaining that was a Super Man reference, I was able to finally visit the bathroom. Upon sitting down, i noticed they had a pink fuzzy carpet looking cover over the seat, and a matching one for the rim. It cared the crap out of me! Good thing I was near the toilet, otherwise that would have been a nasty situation I'd never be able to live down. After two minutes of so, I noticed my butt started to become numb. I had trouble getting off the rim, and almost bumped my head on the door knob once I did stand up. I've come to the conclusion that seat covers are pure evil. I wouldn't wish a seat covered toilet rim on my worst enemy. That is unless they wished one upon me first. At that point, I'd buy them a crate full of the things just to get even with them.

I have a plain white hard seat much like yours. If mine had chips in it that created discomfort I guess I would replace it with one just like it. And kudos to you for being brave enough to post a pic of your pot on the lot teehee.

OMG, I forgot all about those cushioned toilet seats! I do not like them because the plastic I think is not very comfortable and it tears easily. I have only lived in apartments so I get what they give me and its always just the regular white ones and I prefer this. I think when I have a house this will change and then I'll get the most different toilet seat I can find on the internet, lol!

Haha..No its not too good to have a "nasty" toilet seat, especially the kind thats broke and it pinches you everytime you sit down on it...lol. I usually buy the wooden toilet seat, our house has all pine wood on the floors and ceilings, and the bathroom has old barn wood in it, its a rustic looking house, so the wooden toilet seat goes with the theme in the bathroom, if that makes sense..ha.

I definitely wouldn't have any fuzzy seats - I prefer a nice, white, porcelain seat so I can see it's nice and clean. Public toilets are horrible, so I always make sure I 'go' before leaving home so I won't have to use them. If I do get caught out, I squat in the air and don't get into contact with the seat - hahaha!

seriously, play a tune? What do they play? "Beans Beans" or "Come on Sweet Pea" Oh, I know... that one from Madagascar "You've got to move it move it" Kind of puts a new meaning to the words "musical chairs" now doesn't it?

I go for wooden every time. They feel nicer and are warmer in the winter. They look good too, and can look right whatever colours your walls are.

I have a padded one but it does have a tare in it so course I need to buy a new one too. Although it's never pinched or anything like that so it's ok for the time being.. I used to put covers on it as well but found that to be a bit useless being it already had decoration lol my son actually picked out the toilet seat and guess what he got "sponge bob" to funny huh, a plain white or black would of been fine by me but yet at the same time he was being potty trained too... good luck on finding a good toilet seat... Oh and by the way i hate public bathrooms i normally wait until i get home to use it.. There is just something about them I can't stand...

I hate nasty toilet seats also. I have a plastic toilet seat on mine, They are comfortable, cheap and affordable to replace if you have to. they are also easier to keep clean. I have tried the other ones but they do not last long and they are hard to maintain.

I like the padded ones but I made a mistake and learned a lesson from it! My mom and I were in Walmart and saw a padded seat for $10. We thought it was a bargain so we got it. It felt firm and well constructed but when I unwrapped it I found that it was only padded heavy cardboard. For just $6 more I could have gotten a good one but I didn't know that back then. I plan to replace it with a good one this summer. So watch out for cheap stuff--lots of cheap stuff is actually just as good as the expensive stuff but you really have to watch it.

Toilet seats are a funny item when you think about it! I just have a plain old white toilet seat, pretty boring I know but it works for me!! Still, I have to admit I do like the look of some toilet seats, especially the ones that are covered in fur! The Japanese have come up with a new creation in relation to toilet seats, I don't know whether you remember, it was on the news but, this particular seat lifts itself up by itself so you never have to touch it and the toilet flushes automatically after you have finished your business! Great idea although I don't think that it will be out for many years. Andrew
