Man Stoned To Death For Adultery!

As I was browsing through the net, I came across a headline, which reads "....Man Stoned To Death For Adultery" I never know such punishment still exist on earth. Do you think such punishment should continue? Though, adultery should be discouraged, but I think we should think of a better way of dealing with such people. What's your view?
