Sick children and others things that make me sad

A friend of mine plays in this group: http://www.myspace.com/thesingaporeslingersdallas and has invited me to attend a show this evening. We have been planning it for weeks. I'm riding with her and will make an evening of it, enjoying hanging out with friends. But my kid is sick and it is making me sad to leave him. Oh, I know he will be fine, Daddy is an excellent caregiver but there is just something about Mommy loving when you are feeling really, really bad. He is laying in my lap as I type this, patting my leg occassionally as if to tell ME it will all be okay. I would just as soon stay right here just like this all evening. It makes me sad to choose 'me time' over my child. What life decision have you had a tough time with lately? Did it all work out just fine (as I am sure this will)?

I've had bad habbits in my day, but I'm sure that is one I could never develop. Daddy did a fine job in my abscense.

I was a fun night, anniefannie. Even more fun to get home to a little one who was SOOOOOOOO happy to see his mommy.

A couple weeks ago I was having a pretty rough time due to stress. My family is planning a trip to visit a friend in Ottawa this weekend, so that week that I was under too much stress, we were discussing sending me to Ottawa alone. At first I was fine with the idea. Then I decided I really didn't want to spend Mother's Day and my birthday away from my kids and hubby. So instead we're all going together.

I am sure he will be just fine but I understand what you are saying....even when my little granddaughter is sick.....and we are very close she still prefers mama....and I don't blame her. I really haven't had to make any decisions like that....except for parting with a bunch of stuff that was iffy...I am cleaning out things and trying to downsize and having a hard time as some of it has lots of memories attached.....have fun at the show anyway..

Hi, jillhill. I don't envy you and the task you have at hand. I'm sure it is not easy. I had fun at the show, and my little guy is feeling much better today. Just needed a good night sleep with mommy (well, ONE of us had a good night sleep ).

He is a very sweet kid in that way. I had a relaxing time and enjoyed myself very much. But returned home to a little one, wide awake and waiting for me. Last night's basketball playoff games made bedtime rituals go right out the window. I layed down with him and we slept like that all night.
