OK, I have a Canon Pixma MP830 All-in-1: there's the printer, the scanner, the copier & also the fax. But alas, the scanner quit working on me so now I can't scan, can't copy nor fax!~ I'm just left with the printer feature!~ Of all times it chose to break down at my busiest times!~ Argh!~I tried looking for the service manual online but all I got was a broken linkAnyone can provide any help here? Any ideas on where to get a free service manual? I'm not gonna pay for it!~ I'd rather just dismantle it on my own but a service manual would be most helpful~!

I feel your pain brother!
It happens to me from time to time.
The model you have is quite old liow rite?
I did a search but cannot find anything as well.
I wonder if there are any torrents for it.
Will keep a lookout for it.
Did you try going down to Bukit Jambu, the shops there may have the service manual you are seeking.

Torrents!~ I never thought of that!~ Bukit Jambul? They'll just say bring your unit down & we'll check for you - very typical Maybe I should just ask my friend who's working in Canon Service Centre itself? Why didn't I think of that. Oh yeah, maybe I did. People always mistaken the normal user guide for the technician's service guide, that's the problem.....but still no harm in trying.

Well, so far I haven't got to that, haha!~Will use the old scanner later but I'm wondering whether Vista can support....hmm...Oh well, I'll have to figure out. Even if I buy a new scanner / fax / laser printer or whatever, it would be next month after I come back from outstation

I have another old Canon scanner as a back up. Although there might be a few yellow lines but still usable. Plus I haven't tried out the scanner of the Epson all-in-one that's in the store but that one is quite bulky. I'll figure things out but I guess I have to postpone it till ext week since my parents will be at our place for the weekend. And the end of this month we'll be out of town againIt's real hectic

I wonder it is a technical problem. If so, I think you need to get if fixed in the Canon repairmen department. Do you try to unplug the electricity and then plug it again? If it's not a technical problem, perhaps it can be fixed as everything will be back to the original mode.
I love China

Sorry but i'm unable to help u with it as well. I hate buying things that are All in 1, even though it's much cheaper than buying them seperately.. Because once of them spoils, the whole thing wont be able to function as well, even though the rest of them are in working condition.. hehe ^_^
I guess, it will be better to buy a new one instead, and dun dismantle it.. It's gonna be a waste of time and effort..

We have the same brand, though mine is Canon Pixma MP145 but also All-in-1.
I don't have manual either right now and I am much happy if somebody provided a help for this so that I can have it also just in case mine got broken in the future. But right now, it is working perfectly.
