I mostly use cucumber and onion for salad...sometimes I make it with cucumber, onion, curd, and tomato....and sometimes I add carrot also to it. Anyway, I am not fond of salads...it is a dish on the day I am lazy. Lol

I like mine colorful, if posible. That´s why I find greek salad so good with green iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and sweet peppers, black olives and white cheese. When I have many people for diner ( as in birthdays) I make simple salads of different kinds and set them buffet style so each one get what he likes. There I put the potato salad and the beets in a big tray (half has the yellow potatoes, half the red beets); I always make a tomato and onion salad, a lettuce one and coleslaw. I put little dressings to them because some people won´t have salt.

My salads are rarely the same! Lately, I have been making a lot of caesar salads for my husband, because they are super easy. Once each week, we go out for tacos. I always get the taco salad - so there is only lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for veggies. My favorite is to go to the salad bar. There is always so many options! The few things that you can pretty much guarantee will be on my salad are lettuce/spinach, carrots and mushrooms. There is so much more you can do with a salad, though! Cheese, raisins, ham, turkey, beef, sour cream, salsa... The possibilites are endless!

My husband, who does all the food preparation in our household and absolutely loves it while I hate to do all that stuff, made us a really nice salad the other night of lettuce, peanuts, green peppers, tomatoes, and carrots. I like just about anything in a salad except walnuts. I never was a big fan of walnuts, and neither is he.

Whenever I make a salad I don't do anything too extreme with it. Mostly, it's just the lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, and sometimes I put in celery. It just depends on my mood. I don't make salads that often.

Hi Ronina, Much the same as you but I like lemon juice rather then the vinegar but i don't put turnips or carrots, I normally put spring onions in mine. Tamara

Just thought Id offer something to try, but its not vegetable. I get a tray and put cubes of fetta on it, and roast it. The fetta melts a little but mostly holds its shape. When it has a bit of golden colour, remove, and allow to cool, then toss through the salad. Awesome :)
