I see that they decided to reopen schools that where closed due to swine flu. Do you think they should reopen schools now?

I think that they jumped to fast to close a lot of the schools, some of them that had a lot of cases should have been closed, but i do not think that this swine flu is going to be as bad as they made it out to be.

From what I have heard, there's no reason to even close down schools or anything else because of this flu. It isn't as bad as flu that goes around every year. They watch things like this closely enough (just listen to the news!) so that if it looks like it's really going to get out of hand, we'd know in plenty of time. That is, if they'd report the facts.

I believe that the schools should close down for at least a week in order to keep the kids from spreading the disease to others. We don't need the opportunity for this to spread quicker than it is and I would not want my child to attend a school where there were confirmed cases of it. I think that is why we can't stop the spread of so many things because we are constantly exposing our children to these diseases in public schools that don't want to shut down for things like this.

Well to be safe I say they should keep the school closed if there has been a confirmed case. I think that paincing is not good but we must also be very careful since this is a very new flu and there is no vaccine yet. I hope for the best and I am gonna keep praying everyday for anyone effected by this swine flu. Here is an article that might help someone. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well friend :) http://www.ehow.com/how_4969711_not-panic-swine-flu.html

I think they should close IF there is an actual case of swine flu in the school they should close for a day or so long enough to do some serious sanitizing of all surfaces other than that I think they should treat it like any other contagious illness notify parents - take precautions - and resume classes as soon as possible I dont see how closing schools that arent affected does any good I also dont see the need to keep them closed

I think that they should not yet reopen schools, because it's still too dangerous. Missed lessons and lectures from schools can still be caught up, but lost lives can never be returned again. I think that the swine flu is spreading quickly all over the world and reopening schools in places which still has a swine flu outbreak is not a good idea. Maybe they can reopen schools if the swine flu in their place is already under control.

Yes, they should be close to sanitize the school. I think they should only close for a short period.

Here in the UK they have closed down some children's schools due to the swine flu..but the thing that makes me laugh is that the schools that have been closed are mainly private schools...LoLo

It doesn't sound like this flu needs to be treated any different than the usual stuff. But I do hope they keep a very close watch on it in case it mutates..

We had a school district close near us due to a possible case and closed it down for a three day weekend. The case was confirmed as swine flu, but they decided to reopen after they had completely sanitized the transportation and the buildings. Hopefully that is all that is needed to keep the illness from spreading to our kids and communities. I think as long as families are informed of signs of the illness and the schools are taking extra precautions, the schools should try to stay open.

i think the best way to do is to clean the area, check the students health, educate them on how to be healthy h and open the school. the best way is to boost our immune system.

Thats a very tricky question. I think that when there is a case found, that perhaps the school should be closed. But then again, health officials are saying that this flu is no worse than any other flu and if we closed schools every time someone had the flu, the school would never be open. Since it spreads so easily, I do think precautions should be tighter as it will reach more people including the sick or elderly that may be easily susceptible to the flu and have very adverse effects on them. As long as we all obey the rules of the flu and keep away from others when we are sick, things should soon settle down.

I think it's okay to reopen the school but I doubt that some parents will let their children attend. Regardless of how they said the cases has tone down a bit, it still worrying. Still, being out of school for to long deprive children from their education. If the parents still worrying about this and the school has been open, they can ask for teachers to give the homework to be completed at home. It's better than the children doing nothing at home.
