Why Manny "Pacman" Pacquio of the PHILIPPINES blasts Ricky "Hitman" Hatton?

Mostly it's because of the style. Hatton is a headhunter with no specific movement but to go forward and slug it out, thats ok with same type of sluggers (boxers who like in-fighting)and in some cases with out fighters the problem, is Manny is no longer an exclusive in-fighter, Roach transformed him into a great boxer-puncher (combination of in and out fighting)with unbelievable speed and since Hatton only moves forward, Manny can move from side to side and pick his spots with him, (which is what happened in the first round thats why he was able to land that right hook on one of Hattons blind sides on the first round. Also what doomed him was that Manny has learned to add a little bit of counter punching in his arsenal (the KO punch, a left cross) which really surprised me because if Pacquiao masters counter punching he's gonna be unstoppable. I can appreciate Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton is called a slugger, he does have a gung-ho all out attacking style with not much thought for defense, as though he can take any punch anyone throws at him! Well there is one reason for what happened the other night and it is the opposite of Manny Pacquio - Lack of preperation. While manny was preparing for any move the Englishman could make, Ricky was obviously sparring with a crash test dummy, I read his blog on the day of the fight on www.rickyhatton.com, and it sounded like his 14 weeks of training and prep work were actually going well. He had sparred with a south paw fighter who was on the undercard, but this guy was by no means anything near what Manny is. When you are face to face with the best pound for pound fighter in the world, first and foremost - you keep your guard up, Ricky was cruising round the ring with his face just gagging to be flattened, hands floating around his midriff, I just couldnt believe his tactics, all the millions of us knew within the first 30 seconds that Ricky's style was going to come undone very, very quickly. And as an avid Ricky fan, and a fellow Mancunian it pains me to think that Manny's final blow to Ricky could have been blocked, he was just asking for retirement!!! there are many factors and reasons why manny pacquaio blasted and knocked out in 2 rounds the hitman hatton. one of these is what you already mentioned, pacquaio prepared well and hard for this fight. we could not take away from him. besides, hatton was very predictable. trainer fredie roach was able to highlight the weaknesses of hatton and instructed pacquaio to exploit these weaknesses.
