could it be saffron?? i know that it's known to be the most expensive spice in the world...did i get it right?? I sure hope so!

nope its not saffron..
black gold is no more an expensive spice..

In old ages Pepper was used in place of money.
It was smaller and lighter than the yellow metal.
Hence it was called 'Black Gold'
