Do you have your mother's day cards all ready to be mailed?

I have. I'm on my way to the post office right now. I have one for my mom, one for my stepmother and one for my ex mother-in-law. I love all of them, of course I love my biological mom the most but my stepmother has been such a blessing in my life, as has my ex MIL who still keeps in touch with me.
How about you? Are there other special women you're going to send a card to this mother's day? Have you mailed them yet?

I used to send e-cards to save postage but stopped when the viruses and worms got so bad. My family doesn't open attachments or go to links embedded in emails anymore, as my sister got a virus that way. I hope your mom has a wonderful day!

Wow, that's pretty neat! It's nice to know about that in case I ever need it.
I usually get my cards at the dollar store or buy the $.50 ones at Walmart but Hallmark is a great place to know about if I can't get out of the house for some reason, thanks!

I don't know yet what I'll give my mom. I joined a contest and you email your dedication to your mother and a picture along with it, and on mother's day you have to wait for them to air it on tv. It's okay if I don't win, I just want them to air my message so my mom will see.

That's a great idea!
Take it from a mom, the best thing you can do to show your mother you love her is to create a nice memory. Take her to dinner or for a picnic in the park, or an hour or two of window shopping. Gifts break, get lost or are put away but a memory is always there, treasured and looked through again and again!

yes, that is true. I might come up with a backup plan if ever they don't air my message. My brother and I will probably cook for her on Mother's day :D

I would love to send my Mother a mother day card, but sadly I can't send one to heaven.I lost my mother 5 years ago.Although I could try to send one bye putting one on a balloon with helium and let it float up there and pray for the best.i pray the wind carries it to her.

Thank you for those kind words, and yes I do miss her a lot and am saddened that I cannot spend such a special day with her except in spirit. It would have also her anniversary this month as well on the 12th. Both my mother and father both has moved on to their rewards in the heaven to be together within a year of each other. It is a very sad time, but good that they are together. I even got a little teary while answering this discussion as the memories flew around in my head of the past Mother's day we spent together. But I can be comforted to know that if I stay on the straight and narrow and follow the path god laid for me that I will one day see and be with her once again.

You must feel very badly on Mother's Day. I am blessed to have my mother still here but she's 85 now. I don't know what I'll do when she's gone, even though I know she'll be waiting for me when it's my turn to move on.
Your mother still loves you and knows you're thinking of her. Remember that the separation is temporary and that you will see her again. I truly believe that. God bless you.

I"m too cheap to send cards. I usually go and visit them and bring a small gift. I can't see buying a card for my mom, she doesn't appreciate much of anything, never has

The only thing she appreciates is fresh fruit or if I bring her one of her favorite dishes.... do you see a theme? It's all about food that's all she's ever been happy to recieve typically. My mom doesn't even open her mail that gets sent to the nursing home, I have to open it for her. I know I"m setting a good example by dragging the kids there to see her even if it's not the most exciting place she does look forward to seeing them and hearing about their antics.

Maybe she just doesn't know how to express that appreciation. Regardless of her reaction, though, you are doing what you should do and setting a good example for your children. The fact that you treat your mother with respect means that your children will do the same for you.
I buy my cards at the dollar store or the $.50 ones at Walmart. Everyone knows I'm a tightwad and the fact that I spend money on cards shows them that I value them more than my money. And I do! I'd give up all my material things to save one of my three mothers.
Just keep being a good daughter and know that your mom might not be very responsive but you have your snuggle bunnies that love you to the ends of the earth and beyond. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!!

I know at least one of my sons will call and the other one likely will, too. Thanks, I will have a great one! My mom is 1000 miles away but my stepmom is only 30 miles away and we'll have a nice day. I hope yours is happy, too! Remember to make a nice memory with your mom, take her for a walk or something.

Aren't mothers in law great? Mine is wonderful, and so is my father in law. I'm sorry for all the women who have trouble with their in laws, I treasure mine as a permanent part of my family. I hope your mom and MIL have a wonderful day with you!

My mom just lives up the street, and i had my daughter make one for her, amd my mil is coming today in about an hour.. i better get on with the daughter making her a card too i spose.. lol we get along okay, but i wouldnt say she is wonderful that's for sure. lol. yesterday she asked me my address and when i told her she tried to tell me it wasn't right.. as if i am almost 30 years old and dunno what my own darn address is.. that's just a little glimps into one of the many conversations that go that route. .
Happy mothers day to all!

It's not Mother's Day in the UK on the same day as in the US, but when I send cards I always do my mother in law and grandmother as well as my mum.
Funnily enough, Mother's Day here in Portugal was Sunday just gone. My son made me some lovely things at school, but forgot to give them to me! It was a lovely surprise though when he did, as I had missed the date entirely!

Don't you just love those hand made gifts? I have all those little presents they made for me when they were in elementary school--mugs, plates with their artwork on them, necklaces, things they bought at the Secret Santa shop...they are my most precious material possessions! My sons laugh at me but one day they'll know the joy of a hand made gift from their child.

I think I'll send flowers instead because my mother can't read or write. She's a really great mother. I have two brothers and two sisters and my mum takes good care of us all. She works so hard to provide us with decent food and good education. I'm thinking of a trip or a picnic with her too.

I think she would love a trip or a picnic! We mothers value time with our children above all else. Cards and presents are nice, but when you help us make memories of good times with you they become our treasures--just like our children!

We have already mailed my mother in laws and she called to say she received it yesterday. As for my mother I still have to get hers, I usually have them by now but I keep forgetting to get them I guess I am just can't believe that it is already in a few days. I will go tomorrow and get it, she also has her birthday two days later so I will have to grab a birthday card for her tomorrow too. We will be going out for a visit with her on Sunday so I will just be giving her her cards then instead of mailing them out.

Good grief, your mother really got short changed with her birthday after she became a mother! I hope you make it a very special day and on Tuesday you make a big deal of her birthday. She's the most influential person in your life, after all, and has sacrificed a lot for you just because she loves you so much.
