It really is scary if the country is hit with this virus. That is why it is most important in times like these for the proper authorities to be cautious. Prevention is always the best way to go.

Agree. But dont you know that it has a 5 day incubation period. That is why people who have been in infected countries should do self quarantine for 5 days to make sure they are not infected.

I'm scared for getting swine flu my immune system is not good. I get sick easily I hope this virus would not reach the Philippines. I don't know if our government can really help us if this virus is here in the Philippines. I'm afraid for my parents because they are also vulnerable. I think the best way to protect our selves are make our immune system strong by taking vitamins and taking care of our body.

Take a tablet of vitamin C everyday, plenty of rest and exercise. I hope it never reaches our country.

So far our DOH has not declared we are hit but we do have some suspects over at Cebu and here in Manila. Of course, we are all afraid to have that in here. It would be a nightmare for us if the virus could spread in our country. So far the only symptoms that we can rely on is the fever and cold symptoms which is common in flu. For as long as there are no cases spreading from within I guess we are safe from it but we are just vulnerable with the commom flu virus which is said to be in season. I guess the best way to avoid them is to have yourself vaccinated to prevent you from getting one even if it is the common flu. The only advice DOH is giving is becoming hygienic in all out activities to avoid being hit by these and having a healthy lifestyle is the best prevention for us not to get it.

One thing about influenza is the reason we get sick is because we didn't have that specific strain yet so our bodies don't know how to fight it. In the tropics Influenza mutates like rabbits multiplying like crazy. There is one possibility that I'm thinking about this new strain, it might not affect us that much. Because we have experienced many different strains again and again and our bodies might already have the antigen for it before it even hits...I don't want to be optimistic but I am hopeful that this will be the case :)

Of course I am. Well, who isn't? If the 1st world countries were so alarmed and struggling with the pandemic, imagine the cause if it will gonna reach us here. I'm a bit happy with the way of government filter the people from airport for the safety. They said aside their corruption if life and health is on the line..

swine flu - shows the normal mass effect of an epidemic like that of the swine flu virus.
everyone is scared of this "epidemic"? i mean, why is this happening? we do all we can to have a good, decent life and then something beyond our control that is totally life threatening happens. they say everything occurs for a reason. i hope we'd find the reason why fate let this happen. http://www.medicinenet.com/swine_flu/article.htm

we can only speculate. I mean this virus is a combination of influenza viruses from both human and animals. What are the odds of that happening. Anyway thanks for the link. Its helpful
