What do you do when can't sleep ?

Sometimes, till midnight I can't sleep. Then I confused what must I do !
Like now, I can't sleeping when I want sleep. I try Online, but feels boring. I watching TV, the show not interesting. Only Football Championship League is seems good ( But I don't like watch football )
Perhaps my lot member can give me some tips or idea to spend my time when I can't sleep !

At times when I cant sleep I try to lay down in the dark and think. I make sure my eyes are closed and I think about things that are not stressful, then eventualy I doze off to sleep with out even knowing it. I also have a hypnosis CD in the radio next to me for the times I dont want to think.

I think I don't have much tips...
When I can't sleep I am lying in my bed and think for hours about strange things. It's really annoying..but since half a year I don't have that problem anymore. I think it's because I am free from stress again and don't have that much to worry about.
Though there are still things left I have to worry about. :/
Some people think it's a good idea to drink warm milk with honey..I am not sure if this helps though...maybe it does...

If i'm not tired, i will not lie on my bed at all, because i know i wont be able to sleep for sure, and i might even end up staying up thru the night.. haha =D What i will do is to keep watching tv or be earning online till i feel really tired..
BUt if that does not work, i will take a cold shower once again, making myself very comfortable, and i will be able to slep quite well then.. haha =D But i hate to lose my sleep when i'm supposed to wake up early the next day.. lol =D

by the way, thanks for the tips about shower with warm water. I like the idea.

Read boring books, try your study materials(if you are student). You will definitely get some sleep. I said boring because if it interesting, then your mind will not let your sleep. So, have a boring novel or book and let your mind think that it is midnight and you need to sleep!

Sometimes I can't fall asleep.that's a hard time on the bed.maybe watching TV or reading an interesting book.but did not solve the questions at all.there had a period of time I got a mental disease.I hardly had a good sleep.while I had used to listen to the radio.so I tried to sleep with the radio turned on.well,my advise:you can try it.

There are usually two possible reasons why you can't sleep. Either you aren't tired enough, which means you'll have to go to bed later or try to change your sleepingtimes altogether (go to bed earlier, wake up earlier, etc.) or it could mean you're worrying too much / thinking too much while in bed. If you find yourself thinking about a lot of things when in bed, you should consider to change that. Try to think about things before you go to bed, so when you're in bed that's a place you can just relax and go to sleep.

Mediating helps, just simply watching your breathe with your mind and slowly adjust it so that it becomes slow and deep.

What I do when I can't sleep is either get up and read a book for about 15 minutes and then attempt to sleep again or I would go to the toilet, even if I don't need to. I find that these things certainly help to getting me to sleep. However, I have heard that if you do some fitness exercising during the day you will be able to sleep a lot easier but not right before bedtime. This works because you will feel more energized after you have exercised and will be more tired once you go to sleep. Other than these tips, I don't know anymore but I hope this helps you get to sleep since it is very important.

hi friends
sometimes ,i dont get sleepy ,even its past two or three.it really irks me very much and i get sleepy in the morning,but i cannot sleep in the morning,as i have to rush to my college.
when i dont sleep,i just put on the radio and listen to the songs,this helps to fall asleep early.or just i try to read a book,but mostly i listen to songs.

I have the same problem as you. I am usually on the computer late at night and when it reach a certain time, I am heading to my bed. But one problem I encounter, I can't sleep. I clear out my mind but I still can't happen to fall alseep. Well I guess I just wait and wait until I could sleep. This was the strategy I used yesterday. Eventually I will fall alseep. Maybe you could try drinking some warm milk before you head to bed.

maybe you have eaten a heavy meal on your dinner. in my case that happens, sometimes overthinking about some problems make me sleepless. when i am so much stressed. and sometimes because i have slept earlier on the day so i have no more the desire to sleep at night.
but sometimes we can't really tell why. when i can't sleep i try to be active online so that i can do something about it.

When i cannot sleep, i would just get up and clean the room, which i have to do anyway the next morning. When there is championship matches, i might turn on the tv and spend my time watching the matches, snooker, basketball, football, whatever.

i have difficulty in getting sleep at night,but that was before.what i do now when i cant sleep is drink 1 glass of milk and then read a few lines from a book.it really helps.watching tv is also effective coz your eyes will get tired watching.but i think one reason why you cant sleep at night is when u have plenty of sleep during the day,and also when you think a lot or have some unfinished business during the day.so better not think too much and pray before you sleep.

I just think of something over and over and over.. Until I get to sleep. Sometimes watching TV helps.. but as soon as you fall asleep who will turn off the TV? Wah!

I'm tired thinking of something and at that time, the event on TV does not have that interesting.
