I started training recently for my very first half marathon. I will be doing the Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham next year. My husband and a friend are going to do it with me.
I needed some goal besides weight loss because that happens so slowly for me. I know it's a long training time, but with my health problems, that's necessary.
I'm excited about the walk! Anybody else training for a half marathon?

I have never done that before, but I think it is great that you are going to do a half marathon... what a goal you have set for yourself and I am sure that the cause that you will be walking for will motivate you as well!!! congratulations on it and let us know how it goes!!

This is great. What a great accomplishment. I have been wanting to get into marathons. I just had a friend that did the Country Music Marathon in Nashville. It looks like alot of fun.

That was actually the race we considered first. Then I talked to a woman who is the leader of a running group that said the Nashville walk had alot of hills. She said it took a week for her knees to get back to normal, and she runs all the time!
I have arthritis in both knees and torn cartilage in one knee, so figured I better not do a race a seasoned runner had trouble with...lol.

No, I'm doing P90X right now, that's enough for me. Good luck breeze.
