I just had the biggest scare of my life monday! I was told there was absolutly no amniotic fluid surrounding baby and that it was possible baby did not have kidneys. Well come to find out today (wednesday) the baby has kidneys and a bladder and I must have had a tear in the amniotic sac and it all leaked out. I am hoping I can regain the fluid by week 20 (3 weeks) or baby wont be able to develop lungs in time to survive in the outside world. I am on bedrest and told to drink all the fluids i can till then. Im wondering if anyone is or has been in the same boat as I am right now and if there is anything else i can do to help the process of getting fluid back faster. Im 17 weeks pregnant.

So sorry to hear this. I have never heard of this before. I wish you all the best and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. PLease let us know how you make out. Did the tear heal, or is it still there. If it is still there, can they do anything to fix it. I am sure this is very scary for you. I wish you all the best

That is wonderful news! Just rest and stay off your feet, and drink, drink, drink. I am so happy to hear there is no more leakage. I will continue to think and pray for you and your precious one. Take care and please let us know how things go for you. Best wishes!!

I am sorry to hear of this news. but so far your baby is fighting since the baby developed some internal organs needed to develop. Hopefully you can get the needed fluids for your baby. Take the necessary precaution like your doctor prescribed to you and do prayers also because sometimes that is needed also.

I am sorry to hear this, it can be dangerous for your baby if you can't regain the fluid back. I would do as the doctor said and make sure you drink alot of water, I would, it may make you pee alot, still its the best for the both of you..
Make sure everyone around you understands the situation to know you need to do what you need to for the baby to make it through..
I pray that all goes well for you and your baby.. hugsss
