I think it matters to an extent. I would not mind too much about weight as long as the person in question was looking after themselves. Being healthy and eating the right foods is the most important thing and usually we can tell the status of whether someone is healthy or not by their weight. But we are all different at the end of the day and therefore everyone's bodies work differently.

It does because that's how we could tell if we're eating healthy or not. Too skinny could mean an eating disorder (anorexia) and too fat needless to say is obviously dangerous. We should pay attention to what we put in our body. I mean cars only take fuel. If you put any other solid stuff in your gas tank see what happens. It's the same thing with our body.

hmmm well before it does not, when i was single and do not have kids, i was slim and no matter how much i ate i was still skinny! it is weird, but i do not get fat no matter how much i ate back then, so i never thought of my weight before, if it was ok or what, not until now after i have kids, its like ok i am gaining more weight i should watch what i eat, or ok this is already too much i must stop eating. it is getting crazy actually! even my huby watch my weight which is pretty annoying also because i really do not care as long as i know i am healthy but he gets so annoying..but i do get careful now with what i take everyday because i gain too much right ahead when i eat too much. heheheh

36 kilos how many pounds is that? I was always told I'm under weight but no matter how much I eat and I do eat pretty healthy I never gain wait. My metabolism is very high and I'm always full of energy. I think the only reason it matters is health wise. Other than that it doesn't really if you're healthy fat or healthy skinny it doesn't matter just as long as you're healthy. Just as long as you're happy.

I used to be underweight, then I went off to college/university. I gained about 15lb over the school year. But if you are trying to put on a few extra pounds and you aren't a student, eat bananas, lots of bananas, honestly, its puts on weight and is good for you at the same time!

As far as our health is concerned, then weight does matter. Being too much either way is unhealthy. Like being overweight, you run inreased risks of things like heart disease and diabetes. That's why I'm trying to get into the 'healthy range' for people my age and height. I'm the opposite you actually where I need to lose and not gain (which of course I'm trying).

Weight used to be a big issue to me, I used to always keep an eye on the numbers, if it went up a little, I freaked out, but I don't really care as much now because it seems like after 20 years old, my weight just remaining the same, nothing much different but I have lost a couple pounds recently.

First of all.... what is ur height???
BMI (Body Mass Index) is calculated with respect to height.
It will tell you if you are underweight, normal, overweight etc....
So calculate BMI. If it shows underweight, then u can try to gain some weight.
However you look.... skinny or perfect or fat... what really matters is... if you are healthy.
If you are hale and healthy.... don't worry about anything.

I think it's more of a health and comfort thing. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I gained some weight and it doesn't bother me that the number is a little bigger, but I find I'm just not as comfortable. It's harder for me to find comfortable positions to sleep in and such, and I didn' even gain that much! It's enough for me to get back down to where I was before, just so I'm happier with myself.

I also underweight as you, my weight less than 40 kilos, so I always hope to gain weight, but no matter I eat so many food and snacks, my weight have not visible change. My point is gain a little weight more, but no need to get more fat, bucause it will let me add so many inconvenienv in daily life.

It doesn't matter to me at all. I dont care if i look skinny or fat at all. But looking at my case right now, i have the same weight as yours then. And also like you, some people would tell me that i am too skinny and others just said i'm okay.
But to me, it doesn't matter at all. If others would say that i am skinny and i look unhealthy because of that, well i don't care. They don't actually know the real state of my body though. One thing that we should pay attention to is when the doctor already tell us that we are suffering from something. What if i am thin, that does mean i am weak? Ofcourse not!
Eventhough i am thin, but i believe that i am still healthy and okay for i can still do things like what other healthy people can. Let's not judge the book by its cover, right.?

Hi, i'm in the same boat as you, haha. I'm skinny and underweight too, but not as low as you though. Health coach, my family, friends around me and my colleagues all say that i'm too thin that i should eat more to gain weight. However, i've been trying to gain weight all the time and actually i eat quite a lot but my weight is still the same. Some people said maybe it's due to the gene, i'm fated to be thin, haha.

I don't really care. Of course I don't wanna be really overweight, but I don't really care about what I eat. Btw you should really eat more if you weigh 36kilos. That weigh is dangerous to you. Very unhealthy.
Funny how there is such a big difference between to be fat and thin. Many many years ago, if you were fat it meant that you had lots of money. People didn't care at all if they were fat or not

Oh yes. My weight matters a lot to me. I'm into sports and having a toned body is very important for me. In fact since some days I have not been playing any so I have put on some weight, but I know for sure that some days later I will lose it and get back to normalcy. Being in the right weight to height ratio is very important as it can have a lot of affect on the body.

Getting fat or being thin doesn't matter to me. Well, I don't get worry to get fat because its so impossible for me to get fat even though I eat a lot of foods and drink vitamins, still I don't get fat. So, I don't really avoid eating different kinds of food since if ever I earn weights I can easily loose it for a couple of days. My sisters were so very jealous to me because I can eat all kinds of food without thinking of getting fat since they know that no mattet what food I'll eat I don't easily get fat.

Hi bhabytart,
Well, i don't know how tall are you, but 36kgs is really too skinny. I am 53kgs, i think weight does matters to me. I don't want to look fat, i want to be able to wear fashion clothes. I was 46kgs when i am in high school, and my mom said i was too skinny, i will look better if i gain some weight. Then i become 52 when i was in college. I've been up to 56KGs, now i am back to 53, i think i am okay for now. But i would like to be 50KGs FOR EVER. That will be cool.

yah there, i am realy conscious about my health. four years ago i was a very thin boy with 50kg weight. but now my weight is nearly 70kg but i don't know how i gain it. but it makes me happy. if u r active and energatic then it is not the matter what your weight is? a thin person is more happy than a fat. so don't be disappointed. keep smiling.
