I have studied nearly 18 years from primary school to college.I ever thought that being a good student and getting a high score are the responsbility for a student. So i only studied hard and did nothing except that. But when I graduated from school,I found that i should learn more.when you are finding job, having a high mark in school is only a part of your advantages, there are many other skills you should owned, for example, teaming spirit and good comunication ability. The one who wants to succeed in some fields must have more excellent characteristics. So being a good student is not equal to being a succeeded person.Do you have the same feeling like me?And what about your opinions on this topic?

I'm inclined to agree with u.And i'm a university student in China.I think being a good student is very important to our future and if i graduated i must refer my school report card to employing department in China. So if u are a good student at school u will have good job after your school life. And high score is a norm which could reflect whether are you a good student.

i am chinese too.Nowadays ,most of chinese universities'educational quanlity is going down.the colleges some times can't be the true college in some degree. If you want to learn more from college, you should study much harder than any other people.Even that, this can't promise you find a good job.

sometimes, i can't help but to think that way as well.. I know a lot of people who didn't get to finish school but are now successful in their lives. But on the contrary, I also have friends who might have had been able to get better opportunity only if they fit the right requirements mostly educational background.
But I still agree that a person needs lots of exceptional skills aside from mere school stuffs.

Well Yes. Marks are a very important part of your resume but you also need to be able to sell yourself. Often its not how much knowledge you have that counts, but how much of that knowledge you can actually put to use that does. So unless you can work in a team, have good communication skills and all that you mentioned, you can't really use your knowledge. Besides most of the things they teach at school and college are pretty different from what you will actually end up doing

You have raised a very interesting topic to discuss about. I completely agree with you. Being a good student does not signify that you will be successful in like. They are not at all equivalent. Being a good student is the first step towards success. Real success demands more than that. Take for example if you are going to appear for a job interview and they have higher academic cut ups then being a good student you will be eligible for the interview while others with poor academic history will not be eligible. It does not mean that you will definitely get the job. The interviewers will also look your communication ability, positive mental setup, body language, eagerness to learn. If and only if you have those quality then you will get the job. Again after getting your job you have to have presence of mind and leadership qualities to be successful.

I am to study for 17 years, but when I school, I feel my knowledge very needy, at the society, university student all over the place and all BE, and do of the affair have to lower, more and more people start look down upon an university student, they think to be the person of useless use, also rather common construction worker,
All, I mean it's disappointed, but I still keep liking my profession very much:Design.
I miss me to work well an own work hard.

Right, I have the same feeling as you, high score and excellent learning ability is only one part of being a successful person. If I could go back, I should prefer improving my communication ability. Do you thingk which is more important between the well-done student and party boy? It's without doubt for me to choose the later!

well ur right for most part but its not like if u dont study u cant be succesful in life in my country most of the rich people r those who skipped school or had never gone there for some financial reason.they laerned the ways of life and the need for living from life itself as time went past them.

Indeed, being a good student is only an added advantage. To be a successful person in life, one should have communication skills, management of team and thinking of how to make good money. Probably that is why we can see a less educated person earning more than a well educated one.
I was a good student but then I didn't do anything extra in my life to help me out in life, so now a days, it is very difficult for me to even survive!

I totally agree with you, and I have the same feeling with you, just like you I have being a good student for so many years, I always do what the teacher tell me do, and always study hard, and get a good score, I think this is good for a job.
When I graduated, and looking for a job, I found almost all the job need the work experiences, and they don't really care about your scores, what they care about is your ability, like you say, good communication ability, teaming spirit.....
So I think now ability is more important than the scores.

Having good grades and being a good student is just saying you'll be a good employee as well. Successful graduates are being prioritized and being offered better positions. When you work of course you'll learn additional ideas and skills needed for the job. Though maybe not true to all but it's like being good in school is a prerequesite on how to be good at work. Being a good student is the start of being a successful person.

You have raised a very good question, which students should be thinking about before graduation. Actually, it is a general question related with education. What are the students anticipated to be? IQ is only part of it. EQ, FQ, HQ and AQ are also important for a successful graduate. During college, students should be encouraged to participate in various activities, on and out of campus, to develop their overall qualification.
In most cases, they do not realize the issue until thrown in the society. It is never too late to learn. We can learn from books, the self help books popular nowadays, and from real life. Keep a positive attitude is most important. Wish you good luck.

Yup! there are tons of things they don't teach us at school. And academic performance alone is not the basis for finding a job. Each one of us has to venture and discover more skills and improve along because is just a "supplement". and being a good student is one way of being a succeeded person only that we have to go further to what we have learned from school
