Have you thought about hire people build your own house?

I think we're going to renovate our current house according to our own design, make it more environmentally friendly and less likely to need repairs. Now it's just a matter of finding good builders, electricians and plumbers who will use green products and not cost us an arm and a leg.

Hi there....it would be so nice to build ones own dream home and yes I have thought about it but land is scarce in my state so to buy a piece of land and build a house is very very very super duper expensive.

In my home country land is pricey and any available gets snapped up by construction companies. Few people enough money and luck to buy a piece of land, get planning permission and then hire people to build their dream home. For example there was a medium piece of land next to my local bus stop. A construction company didn't put one or two houses there but annoyingly twelve apartments. I would so love to buy an acre of land and have a house built there. I would agree its specification with an architect. It would be a chalet bungalow because my toddler son can't walk. Downstairs it would have a double lounge, a kitchen, a dinning room, three bedrooms, a bathroom, a play room, a utility room and a conservatory. Upstairs it would have two bedrooms and another bathroom. Outside it would have a summer house, a spa room and a swimming pool. Many hardy like palms would be planted in my garden.

Hi there Clorissa! Yes, we actually have. The plans, electrical, floor plan, etc. were made by a couple of architects and we hired carpenters and a foreman and some masons to do the work. We have to pay and it is kinda pricey.

Well, frankly, I want to hire some but not all of them. I want to design the whole house myself and also with my girl. My dream house will not be very big. A small one with simplicity will do and I want it fully designed by me. ^_^

well i live India and here it is very common thing. here people buy their own land and call some builders to make their house according to what they want in it. well all y relatives have built their house like that only.well my parents have also built their house like that.most of the people in our country build their houses like that. i too will build my house like that .
