Is your best friend from childhood still one of your best friends today?

Remember telling your childhood friends that you would be friends for forever? Is this still true in your life? How old is your longest friendship?

Thirty six years of friendship. We were in grade three when we started hanging out together. She lives in Las Vegas for seven years now. She came last March for a few days vacation here in the Philippines and we had fun visiting some nice places especially a forestry campus where she once worked. She missed all those century old trees! She said her house now is on a desert and she really enjoyed the refreshing feeling she had on our nature trip. We get in touch through e-mails and phone calls and eventhough i have other bestfriends -- two in highschool and one in college -- she was the first to come into my life, the longest friendship i treasure.

How lucky you are! You just proved that getting older doesn't always mean you grow apart!

Yes, that's is so true! And she was the one who made that e-mail address (i was ignorant about this at that time) i am still using for nine years now. I don't have any other add and it has never crossed my mind to change the password. It is just not necessary when you have a bestfriend like her!

Actually, yes! We were both eight when we met so we've been friends 41 years this year! We went to school together, college together. Even returned to college in our later years after raising children and graduated one year apart after we were in our 30's! Now we are getting slower and older together! Our children are grown and we are still BF! You don't get many people who stick with you that long in a lifetime! It's amazing to have seen! We are still friends even though we live hours apart in two different states and have for years! So my longest friendship is 41 years! I just left her a message on facebook this afternoon!

I don't know... I mean we haven't meet again.. she's so far from me.. but still I'll always remember her as my bestfriend...but if we meet again, perhaps I'm gonna remember her how much i missed her..but maybe we will never have it again the closeness of our friendship when we were both young....hehehe... that's all i can say...

People really change! My childhood friend is not already part of my circle of friends. We are still neighbors though, but our approach towards each other are now cold. We don't even talk for we are don't have any topic to tackle about. I don't even know if he still recognizes me as his childhood friend.

no were not best friend anymore instead were just friends. because we separate ways for long time and we dont have contact. then when we meet again it just like hi and hello. like that. so i dont consider it as my bestfriend.

Yes I have a best-friend since childhood, I think it's 18 yrs. already...but it's not like before that we're so much like sisters, now our closeness were lessened because of some reasons that we no longer have the same interests and because of our schedule, but she's been there for me even if things changed, we're still friends and will remain to be as best-friends for keeps.
