we have two daughters, one is 12 and one is almost 16 and they are always making new friends, so when they get their new friend's phone numbers, it is usually written on a scrap piece of paper and then they inevidently get lost and mom is to blame.
does anyone else encounter this problem? what do you do? we do have a big cork board that we use but the number doesnt always get back up there.

My mom had this yellow address book that she kept right by the living room phone. Then, what would happen is, every time a new number was being made or added it went in there in order of alphabet. Then every five months or so we would get a new planner, and revise the numbers to re-ogranize the numbers that either got crammed in or were all out of order, or take out those we did not speak to anymore.

I have a little phone book I use to keep all of our numbers. I have had it ever since we have had this house which is nearly 16 years now. Every number goes promptly in there. Of course most numbers can be saved right on your cell phone these days as well. But even though I have most of my numbers stored on my cell phone I also have them written in my book, because with electronics you never know when something will go wrong and you lose everything. I keep my little phone book in a kitchen drawer.

My husband has a notepad and he writes all the phone numbers on there or has me do it. I have a church address book for all my friends and the phone numbers are there along with their addresses. I also write them in my gmail friend email and I also have a day timer and a small addressbook. I am not that good at remembering phone numbers so I need all the help I can get.

My kids have grown up but I still get a lot of phone numbers written down on a scrap of paper or a napkin from new people I meet. I just write them down in a spiral notebook when I get home. I have gotten some work doing this and new friends too.

Get your daughters an address book each and make them write down their numbers.I got sick of all those l ittle bits of paper spread around the house that is what I did and it worked lovely,if they lost their numbers not my fault.

Lol, that's one thing I don't look forward to just yet. My kids using the phone. My oldest is only 10 and she's already asking to give her phone number out and call her friends. We told her not yet until she's a little older. I'm not sure how old yet, my husband and I haven't made a decision on that yet. I think when the time comes though there will be a limit and I hope she doesn't have too many people calling or their might be a problem. I would have her get her own address book because those are her numbers and it shouldn't be mom's fault they get lost.

I carry around a small notebook with me wherever I go. Once a week or so, I write down everything from all the scraps of paper that accumulated that week and write it in my notebook.
It might take some time to sift through all the stuff written in it, but I eventually find what I'm looking for.
Other than that, I have lists of things on my computer: phone numbers, addresses, birth dates, things like that. If all else fails, I go to those files.
Somewhere around here I also have an address book and most numbers are written in it. The trouble is, I'm always putting it down someplace new.
