You know lately, with the way the economy is going, I have noticed how hard its getting on people, how rough its getting, but I also know...its not getting better. Its going to get worse before it gets better.
And yet, I still see so many people being inhumane to others. So few have realized that as the human race, we are the only thing we have to rely on in the universe right now. If we dont start being better to each other, we are in a lot of trouble. Is it really going to kill us to step up and take care of each other? Ive got it pretty hard, couldnt pay my rent in full this month because I had to fix my truck. I had to go seek assistance for my electric bill. Im not saying continue supporting those who do not support themselves. Its time they stepped up and started caring for themselves. I mean the people who ARE working hard, and cant seem to get it together.
Like the other day at work, there was a girl in the break room who didnt have lunch because she didnt have any money for lunch that day. Well, I had brought some stuff from home, some sloppy joes and so I gave her a sloppy joe to eat. Sure, it wasnt much and maybe she didnt even like them, but I wanted to be sure that she ate, because I just cant see someone going hungry. Did that break my bank? No. Does giving help to others HAVE to break the bank? NO! Sometimes, it can be as simple as opening a door for someone with their arms full of boxes, or helping someone put away their groceries because they are obviously hurting.
It just makes me mad to see just what is becoming of this world. And our children are going to be worse because if we cant keep the care in the world, how are they supposed to do it? If they dont see it put into practice, they arent going to know.
And what is my little rant going to do? Im not sure. Might not do anything. Maybe one person will read it and be affected. Maybe not.
If each person did one random act of kindness every day, then everyone in this world would be positively affected every day. If we dont start taking care of each other, we will be scrambling to survive.
Bright blessings and safe journeys to you.

I had a rant a while back on a different site similar to this, the topic was "what makes a person a hero". Most answers were going above and beyond what you regularly do on a daily basis ie: pulling someone form a burning car. My answer was about the little things we all need to do in daily life. DO you hold the door open for the person coming in behind you? Do you help the person who just spilled their change all over the floor at the register? Do you offer to share your lunch with the person who doesn't have one? Would you help the person struggling with a child load the groceries into their trunk?
I live in the country and it's common practice to wave at everyone as we drive, some don't wave back but next time I see that car, I wave again. Small towns can teach the world a few things, they are more community oriented. In larger towns and cities everyone (not really everyone, but most) is only concerned with themselves.
The world is falling apart and I only know that from watching the news. If I chose to not watch the news for a few weeks, I bet the world would seem like a pretty good place, because I can only see my immediate area which is friendly and kind and people have respect for others.
You bring up a great point, my son wants to help people and he's 5, I guess I'm doing something right. We don't have much money and it's a struggle to get all the bills paid, but we are happy. Happiness is more fulfilling than any amount of money.

Bravo! Yeah, my son is 12 and he wants to help others, though its hard in a world that bullies him a lot for the way he is. But hes hopeful and I hope he stays that way and fights the urge to be a part of the hate in the world, and I hope he stands for something in his life that is good and moral.
