Strange that you mention this. I had never really given it any thought but in my experience I see it very much having swung to women being more unfaithful. The last few cases involving my friends it has been the woman who strayed. When I go back 20 to 40 years or so it was very much the other way. Women are in general more independent and much less inhibited than they used to be and that is not a bad thing bat it is causing some problems like you have highlighted. In no way am I suggesting that men have improved but it does seem that the responsibility for broken relationships has become less one sided.
