I have an MSI laptop with Celeron processor and 256 RAM. I would like to know if there is something that can be done to boost its WIFI reception. Or should I just buy a new laptop with a faster processor?

It may be worth checking if your laptop has a port in which you can attach an external antenna. My toshiba has one, and I get much better range with antenna attached

Definitely as the above poster commented. The processor and RAM are not going to ever be an issue with WiFi speed. The things they will affect are the speed of the programs you run, and the number of them you can run at once. WiFi simply uses your network/WiFi card.
