I have fainted in public quite spectacularly (so I was told).
I was at boarding school and every Saturday evening the dining hall was turned into a cinema (OK, movie theater to you, LOL). The tables were stacked away to the side, the long wooden benches were arranged in rows and a screen was set up at the front (and a projector at the back). In those days there was nothing but rather poor 16mm copies in black and white of mostly B movies.
One week we got a copy of "The Life of Florence Nightingale" (I don't know if that was the exact title ... these days I guess it may be a 'classic'). To be fair, there was hardly any blood on screen (it would have been black, anyway). What seemed to do it for me, however, was the screaming as they amputated the guy's leg ... and how they made him bite on a leather belt before they started.
Well, those long wooden benches were not the most stable of seats. When I went over backwards, not only did the row I was on but also the row behind and the row behind that and so on ... I gather it was quite spectacular! Talk about the domino effect!
I woke up in sick bay, of course, not knowing anything about it but I did enjoy a certain amount of awe from my peers for several weeks after!
I can only say that I am still somewhat squeamish and I wouldn;t recommend boarding school at 12 or 14 to anyone!

Ha ha! Thanks for the BR. It makes up for all the chaffing I had for the rest of my time at that school. I know now that most people were awestruck that I could create such an effect but the actual reaction was to treat me as something of an outcast (especially as my Great Grandfather founded the school and I bear his name).
Children, and especially those in boarding schools, can be exceedingly cruel.

The domino effect. Oh my!
That would be weird, first sitting in a cinema and then waking up in sick bay.
Films like that can be pretty lively. Especially for children.
Boarding school does not seem like a good idea to me either.
In Belgium it is normal to send your children to boarding school. At least the people that I meet there said so. They did not understand me not having my children in one.
I think when you have no choice, it could be a good thing. But having a choice it seems better to not have the children in boarding school.
Thanks for your comment.
Take care.

yes i have. i was still in my college days that time, far away from home and i am sick too. then my parents arrive and took care of me. then when they and i think that im kindah fine, we went to church to hear mass. maybe because of the heat and atmosphere and the people around. me not totally fine yet. i just suddenly fainted with all the people around. but its just alright that time because im not alone when that happens.

I have not fainted but when I was young I would black out for a second or two. And one time, my foster mother heard me cursing and I never realized it. I was in my mid teens and she had come to help us after my mother passed, but I forgot all about it. You know fainting is nothing compared with thinking that for a time you were Linda Blair in The Exorcist. At least, no one told me that my head span around and around.

Oh that was a horrible movie, haunted me almost my whole life until I saw it again last year. Finally I am over it. hahaha!
I think in your case it was very natural that you had this kind of out burst.
Your whole life had changed on you so fast. You are in your mid teens. This is a very sensitive age. It is a way for you to express your pain.
If you had not had that then, you could have gotten more problems later on in your future. A natural defense, so to speak.
This is what it sounds like to me. Maybe I am wrong?
Thank-you for commenting.
Take care.

I've fainted too many times since I was a child. I'm anemic so I guess it has something to do with that. It grew in me already. I've fainted at home, at school, at work place...I've gotten used to it already so it hardly embarrasses me now. The most recent was at the 152th flr of Statue of liberty a few weeks ago...spring break. I just started seeing stars when I hit the 138th flr. Good thing I saw a chair and just threw myself on it. My husband called for help cause there was no way I could make it going back downstairs. We used the emergency elevator. Ok, it was a bit embarrassing there cause the emergency elevator was usually for handicapped and the elderly :(

I definitely have had a problem with it in the past. Once I was pregnant and fainted when my husband and I were coming out of a store. It was scarier for him then myself. I saw doctors but no one was ever able to explain why it happened. Sometimes when it is hot and humid I get light-heated and have felt close to fainting. I just try to stay hydrated and keep myself cool.

That is possible. When I don't eat, my hands could start shaking.
Isn't that terrible how people judge you?
I have the same problem with my back. 12 years ago I had an operation on my lower back. Hernia. The problem has come back and my friends don't believe me, they think I am over exaggerating. I wish I were.
Because the people cannot see it, they suspect you are not telling the truth or over exaggerating.
I have gained weight too, but my hands still start shaking when I don't eat enough.
Take care.
