hell all u people I was just wondering anyone been to australia and think its better than most places including ny?? My lil sister just moved to austrailia to be with the man she loves and she been living there for 3 months now and always emails me bragging about how beautiful and safe it is and it soooooooooo much better than ny and how she so glad she left ny and she keep telling me I need to go up there cuz its such a safe place and friendly people and I would just love it. Well lately I have been thinking what if I did try to take a big step and move out there too just to start over in a different place would it be a good idea?? Is Australia as great as she makes it seem I know she sent me pictures and it is beautiful but is it better than ny?? In ny I can get around easy with many different types of transportation and I am use to it here do u think I can get used to it over there? my sis tells me she is soooo used to it already but i think she is just pretending because she doesnt want me to say i told u so cuz i didnt think it was smart for her to just move out there so fast. I didnt think she was being honest when she said it was sooo great but maybe she is anyone been there let me know. thanks

Australia is really beautiful.. i have family living there.. so i go there pretty often and the transportation is pretty good. The people are a lovely bunch! But if you're a true new yorker and need that bz buzz, or craving that hot dog down the street, then maybe it's not the best idea for you to move. I've been to NY and I think the people are pretty friendly and shopping is just great. But Australia is a fresh change.. much more laid back.. and you'll be pleasantly surprised.. it's not so "outback" as you might think. I do think that your sister might really be happy. Maybe you can go and visit her one day and check it out for yourself...

I've lived in Australia for seven years and although it is a beautiful country for sightseeing and tourism purposes, I would not reccomend you to just move there because your sister says its fun. Everyone has different experiences on where they live. My life in Australia was the worst time in my life and I certainly would not want to live there. I don't mind just visiting once in a while. I encountered a lot of racism on my part most people were very hostile to me and its difficult to get a good job there if you are not australian. I remember once going for an interview to work as an editor for a newspaper. I passed the telephone interview (I think cause they thought I was white as I have an english accent)but when I went for the face to face interview, I didnt even get a chance to be interviwed. They gave me all sorts of excuses but I knew it was definetly due to my skin colour. That's just the tip of the iceberg of what happened to me while I was there. I love ny as I think ny is more of a friendly place, transport system is very good (although I must say London beats ny when it comes to transport systems) I dont agree that life in australia is better than ny. I prefer ny as i had a lovely time in the two years that I lived there. Everybody was nice, jobs were easy to get and enviroment and everything was fantastic. So dont get envious of your sister's fun. She might love it there but it may not be necesarily what you would like.

Your sister is certainly right about Australia being an excellent country to live in. It is known as the 'lucky country' and that title explains much. The local people are friendly, the landscape is beautiful, the weather can be glorious and the wildlife is unique. It is incredibly safe and transportation is excellent. I have been there twice and it is after Samoa, my second favorite country. There is a points system for emigrating to Australia. I suggest you visit it before moving there for good. I would happily live there but family and friends in Europe would be far away.

Hi Noemi, I think your sister is telling you the truth. Australia is a wonderful country. In the last 10 years I have had 3 holidays there each for several weeks. on my last visit I met up with a young friend who moved out there 3 years ago and he is very happy. Take a holiday and go see for yourself before deciding on a permanent move. There are several large cities but many lovely smaller towns. I am sure you will find somewhere really nice and enjoy living there. If I was younger I would be there in a flash. Good luck!
