Hi friends,
Would you like to make a difference in the world or not? I remember that I used to feel this way when I was younger and fresh out of high school. Now that I'm a parent I feel that I am doing my part to try to help make a difference in the lives of my children. As far as the world is concerned I would still like to try to help make a difference in the lives of some of the children that don't have what I have but I am not sure how I want to go about it yet. What would you do if you could make a difference?

If I could make a difference in the world I would like to talk to young adults about choices in life. Everyone assumes that there is right and wrong like when kids. Decisions are tough will growing up but someone needs to let young people know that just because they are not following the so called right thing that it doesnt mean it is wrong. For example, obviously drinking and driving is stupid and wrong. For example, for some after high school some cannot go straight to college due to finances or they must work to support their family but that doesnt make it wrong that they didn't go to college.

Hello Flirtykumquat. Of course what you are saying is valid, no one can be held responsible for choices that anyone else make in life. I do believe that if anyone really want to go to college nowadays there is a way, whether it be through scholarships, grants or what have you. If a person decides not to go it's no big deal. They made the choice that was right for them. It wasn't right or wrong but just something that happens.

Hi Citychic
Yes, I did think like that when I was young. After I graduated from college many years ago, and I am still working so hard just only to make my parents' and my life better, I feel very weak that how much difference I can make to this world. Maybe now I don't have the ability as I thought I would have, I still want to help others in need, my hubby and I are going to give financial assistance to childern who are suffereing illness and hunger. This is very little effort but at least it is the best I can do at the moment.

HelloMickey!!! Well it's really nice to know that there are still alot of really good people that are out in the world. I believe that we should do what we can and although it may not be as much as we'd like to be able to give to certain causes. I"m sure that anything is better than nothing. Just imagine, if everybody in the US gave our spare change away to some of these causes it could probably whip out hunger in some of the smaller places like haiti or the islands. Anyhow, Just want to encourage you to keep on keeping on............ Happy mylotting and thank you for responding to this post.

I would really like to make a difference in a lot of ways. Environmentally, I'd like to limit the construction going on. I moved from a city to another county that is basically country. I'd love to make even more places see that we do not need much to survive and that we can go without so many different stores so close together. Religiously, I'd like to never push anyone towards a religion, but I'd like to help in any way I can, although I am not sure in which I can as of yet. My fiance and I aren't involved in a church but we've been talking about it.

Hi there. I think that, making a difference in the world is not as difficult as one would think. One could make a difference by doing simple things that, when considered collectively, would indeed have an impact on society. For example, I believe that making a difference in the lives of your own children and being a good parent to them would definitely help make a difference in society since raising your children as good, law-abiding citizens contributes to building a better society. Also, simple things such as making sure one practices proper garbage disposal could help contribute to making a difference in the world. It's just a matter of perspective, I guess.

Hello there, I certainly do want to agree with you on this matter. What you mentioned about being a good parent is all well and good. But we have to have laws put into place that are not going against what the parents are trying to instill in their children as far as good values go. We need to have morals and legislators that stand by them. I think that when they decided to take God from out of the school, it was probably one of the biggest mistakes that our country could have made. The way things are nowadays, man wants to think they are smarter than God, there will be hell to pay for this someday, mark my words. Together we all win if united, divided we shall surely fall.
