how come parents lie when they know that the children got them in a caught up of there lies

That is a good question. Unfortunately it's also one I can't answer. I honestly don't think there is an answer to it. Some people are just that way and always will be. Unfortunately it's their kids who end up suffering the most. It's really quite sad.
