I am guilty of being a "just one more minute person". I am always like, "I will just watch this on TV or I will just do this chore or whatever and then I will hit the hay"
Sometimes I do feel a little tired the next day because of my weird sleeping habits but it's nothing that a little nap here or there can't cure.

I believe that in the days of old, the mattresses were stuffed with hay and poeple slept on the hay in the mattress. so to 'hit the hay' means to lay down on a mattress to sleep.

I'm more set in my ways now that I am older. But all my life I have needed sleep to function. I am rubbish in the mornings before I have had my first cup of coffee, Feel much better after the second cup.
So, no I don't force myself to stray awake when I need the sleep. I usually go to bed about 9 pm and then read or watch tv for an hour. I then watch the 10 pm lat news on a local channel and about 10.30 go to sleep. I don't fall asleep easily although I may be dog tires. I am awakened by the alarm clock by 6 am the folowing morning and this is the time that I could just sleep and sleep.
Anyway, plenty of time to rest when we are six foot under

Last night I stayed up until after 12 reading a an old Patricia Cornwall book,. I save her books and got lucky at a cancer society sale. I snatched four books at such a low price. It ws great! anyway, what were we saying? Oh yes, 6' under. Yepm would like to live at a decade longer but my children have permission to put me down if I get alzheimers or incontinent! Now if I could ever find and install spell check on MYlot my year would be made.

I've been known to be a just one more minute person. In the past, it was to play games... solitaire on windows.... and spider solitaire as well. I could waste HOURS at those games at one point.
Now, I'm more likely to stay up to continue to chat with certain friends online. Even then, I reach a point where I can't see the screen clearly anymore, and have to retire for the night. That point tends to be around 10:30pm nowadays. LOL!

hello p1kef1sh,
i am the type of person that i have to have at least seven to eight hours of sleep at night time or i cannot make it the next day. lol and i am a just one more minute person the next morning when that my alarm clock awakens me. lol but i put my alarm clock across the room, where when that it goes off, i have to get up out of bed and turn it off, so when the alarm goes off, i automatically get on up and make coffee for the morning, instead of laying back down and going back to sleep.
take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

I go when I'm tired, I work from home now but when I went out to work and it was a demanding job plus my kids were younger then I needed a set routine, so that meant a regular time for bed but not nowadays, my days are pretty much my own, my kids are older so take themselves off to school which now means I go to bed when I like..such a rebel I am!!! lol

I know my body and I have suffered with insomnia issues so I do my best to be in bed and ready for sleep by a certain time. I am not too rigid about the time but I know that if I move away from what is best for me it will make for a bad night's sleep as well as the next day feeling crappy.

LOL--I'm a just one more minute person too, that turns into a few hours. I usually switch off my computer after a certain time, take my bath, and after my bath fix a late night snack and eat it while vegged out in front of the TV--my bed is calling to me...it's time for bed now...but I remain sitting in front of the tele like a zombie--I'm honestly trying to change my dumb habits and not succeeding very well

I am a "one more minute" person; sometimes, I have almost fallen asleep on the keyboard. Of course, I don't function well the next day, but that doesn't deter me from saying "just one more minute" to my sleepy body. :)
Cheers and happy Mylotting

I sleep when sleep comes. I learned long ago not to force myself to be doing things when I am tired and the lesson has been well-learned. I once erased all my files simply because I was very sleepy.

For me to feel human in a day time I have to have 7 - 8 hours of sleep a night. I do set myself a bedtime but I never get there at that time because I am a one more minute person. I did the same thing last night, I had been determined to get to bed for 10.30-11.00pm but by the time I had finished faffing about on my facebook games it was past 11.30 before I got to bed, and now I feel lethargical and lazy today!!! I think it might have to be a computer day today and no housework.

I'm the 'just one more minute' type, unfortunately. That is probably why, I am an insomniac. So, I have to take something to force myself to go to sleep, because I will be useless the next day without my 7 hrs sleep.

I force myself to stay awake. I know that it probably isn't healthy, but I only have time to study after the kids are asleep. I have learned to survive on three hours sleep.

I am totally a in a minute kind of person and push that minute as far as I can also. I try to stay awake so long that I just fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. I used to go to bed same time as my husband but now I don't since I have a computer now. Before I used to just toss and turn till I fell asleep. I don't like getting my daily exercise though tossing and turning most the night till I am tired enough to go to sleep.

I'm a good fishy and I do normally go to my bedy-byes when I'm tired, even during the day if I'm in, it's not good to just fall asleep at my desk or in a cubicle at college, although, if I'm having a massage I do sometimes fall asleep at college, it's very good there you know, one of the few courses where they don't mind if you fall asleep during lessons! ;D

At first I thought you might have been making a public wish for an extension to your lovemaking record! What a shame as getting up to 3 minutes a session really would have been wonderful! I'm DEFINITELY a "just one more minute" person and have no discipline whatsoever when it comes to going to bed at a set time each night. It's always one more response, or one more commercial break, or one more goat fondle.....

I stay up till I'm sleepy then I go to bed. It might be midnight, it might be 1AM. But I do plan to get on a schedule so that I can take advantage of the mornings. Sometimes I'm up at 7, sometimes 9. I'd like to get up around 6.
I know what you mean about struggling the next day. Some nights I can barely sleep at all and the next day is miserable. Sleep is so important!

I have very odd sleeping patterns and I have trouble sleeping even when I am tired it takes me forever to get to dreamland,I think the reason that happens is my mind is totally cluttered and racing it's very active and hard to turn off,the only time I fall right to sleep is if I didn't get enough the night before. So I end up puttering about till I feel ready to sleep oand my mind is finally shutting down.
